I am brand new to this site!

Hi! I'm new to this site and pretty new to blogging. I blog about raising 4 kids -- including one with Asperger's Syndrome and Bipolar and one with Bipolar and ADHD (both are almost 11).

Our world can get pretty intense, so I'd also love to connect with anyone else raising kids either on the autism spectrum, with bipolar or both.

We're in Colorado.

Hi Everyone:

I am determined to start a social skills group in my area... I have a (just turned) 15 year old son, Nick, who has high functioning autism. I would like to find other moms who have a son/daughter (hey, we're not sexist!!) around the same age group (11 +) who also has high functioning autism or asperger's...

I live in Plymouth, MA, grew up in Norwell, MA and know the south shore of Massachusetts extremely well....

My hope is that we could have a schedule of activities to do with our kids (bowling, boat trips, movies..) on a monthly basis...Even maybe treat ourselves to a dinner night out once in a while!!

Hi Everyone
well I'm old hat to this world - meaning I have many yrs on most of you ladies
I have twin boys - Dane and Kyle - now 22 yrs old - born 12 wks early 27wks GS
1lb 12oz and 1lb 13oz
Dane is fine now - working as heavy epuip oper. - he had a trach and stutters - but all in all he is doing great - he is into bodybuilding - I think he will look like batman in a few yrs
Kyle not so lucky - mild CP / hip dysplshia / epilepsy (Epilepsy SUCKS)
he is recovering from his 2nd brain surgery for epilepsy control
in the process - he lost use of his right hand and it made his right leg weaker
he use's a quad cane in his left hand
so he is a fall risk
so he needs someone with him 24/7
He is doing great and is a wonderful guy
he give's me the strength to go on daily
so I am building my business for him (its will able) to be sure he will be taken care of after I'm gone
My goal is to buy 100 acres and build a self sufficient - eco friendly - off the grid COMMUNE for parents to live that have special needs kids

Hi, I'm new to the boards, but not to autism and special needs. My name is Maryann and I have 2 boys. My oldest has PDD-NOS which is on the autism spectrum and my youngest has a speech delay. My oldest also has sensory processing disorder and hypotonia. He has been in physical therapy since 8 months old. We do biomedical interventions such as GFCF diet and supplements to recover my son from Autism and it is working. I am a rescue angel with generation rescue (Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey are board members) and help other parents start biomedical interventions for their children.

Hello all you special moms!!! I am Christa and I have two beautiful kids. My youngest has special needs. She doesn't have a diagnosis yet....I suppose we probably never where. The hardest part about not knowing is that the doctors continue to tell me that "becuase there isn't a diagnosis, she may outgrow her disabilities"....UGH the torture. My daughter has seizures, global delays and Ataxia....but she is probably one of the GREATEST people that I know and she inspires me in ways that I can't even describe.

Hello. My name is Karen and I have a 5 year old named Leah Rose that was diagnosed with Freeman Sheldon Syndrome aka Whistling Face Syndrome and she has a repaired midline cleft in the soft palate. Hope you are all having a great 3 day weekend!

I'm thinking about taking the time of putting a list of our blog links together and putting them in categories based on our childrens' diagnoses... if anyone is interested, please let me know - post your link & your child's issues.
