I just visited your site. Thanks for sharing about the Easter craft. Your family is beautiful...ah...should I say handsome. Guys don't care too much for the description "beautiful," but I must say your youngest son is cute:)

Cynthia, I LOVE when one of my books peaks interest!!

The book's rhymes are all fun, and the illustrations, by award winning artist K.C. Snider, are really cool. Moving far from everything you know and love can be traumatic for some kids.  Any BIG change, if parents don't discuss it with the family first, will be a shock.  The parent teacher guide offers helpful suggestions that will  prepare a child, and help them understand the reasons behind the change - whatever it is.

And if your child is happy and well adjusted, Ruthie is simply a fun read to enjoy.

Margot, this book has peaked my curiousity, especially the last two lines of the first verse.

Cynthia, yes, Ruthie is a riot!!  It deals with a big change in her life, and how the change changes Ruthie - and not for the better!!  There is a parent teacher guide with it, and he helpful Q and A helps parents and kids discuss big changes and how to deal with them so kids can cope better.

The last two lines of the first verse read:

Her parents scolded, begged and coaxed, but Ruthie paid no mind,

Her moods grew big and ugly – like some Hippo’s fat behind!

Angel, a very interesting and informative article.  That picture will grab attention too. I tried to leave a comment, but it would not accept it.  I also Tweeted and Facebooked it.
