My one boy was a reluctant reader.  Getting him to read was like pulling teeth!!  As a teacher's aide I discovered it was not unusual for boys to prefer sports, computer games and TV to reading. I also discovered there were far more books written with girls in mind than there were for boys. 

My answer was "Taconi and Claude - Double Trouble" a mid-grade adventure for boys that takes place in the Aussie Outback.
