A Poem to Our Daughters

Your little hands, your tiny feet, I still remember when.
You started as a part of me; I was much younger then.
The sleepless nights I still recall, you needed to be fed.
As tired and weary as I was, I staggered from my bed.

And when you gazed into my eyes, a smile with me you shared,
It touched my heart deep in my soul; no sacrifice was spared.
The years passed by, you grew and grew; a reason for my being.
Your clever wit and loving ways were all that I was seeing.

A mother’s love that binds her child is hard to understand,
For those that never walk that road, or never play that hand.
As for me I know for sure without the slightest doubt.
I’d never change a single thing; you're what my life’s about.

Comment by PartlySunny on July 4, 2010 at 3:59am: Hi, I'm new to the group. My daughter's a 5-year-old (6 in four days, but she's still 5 -- still 5!!!) hippie princess. Today she was a bunny princess, pirate princess, and dragon princess. I can't claim all ribbons and fluff, but she's got style.

I came back into the Marine Corps, moved from Boston to Quantico, then from Quantico back to San Diego. I'm in sunny So Cal now...home sweet home. I'm stationed at Camp Pendleton, my daughters are now 4 and 2 1/2, and attend the Child Development Center on base. I can't believe my oldest will be starting kindergarten soon!!! eek!!

I also started a new business, selling Scentsy Wickless Candles as an Independent Consultant. I'm saving my commissions in order to take my girls to Walt Disney World next year. None of us have ever been there, and I'm sure they'll be super thrilled when we go!!

How has everyone else been??
