With my first born, I was most nervous about labor and what to expect - this time around, I'm still nervous about labor and my options to vbac or not. But, despite that fear, I am super excited to be growing my family!
In my hospital bag I packed only for two days, and I ended up sending my hubby home for more clothes since I had to stay longer. I would definitely say to pack an extra set of clothes! I also packed a set of sterilized pacifiers for just in case, breast pads, and of course, all the typical essentials: toothbrush, toothpaste, and toiletries.
I like Philips AVENT on Facebook, shared about the free bottle last week when it was still available, and tweeted about the fabulous mom tribe! Thanks so much for this forum!
With my daughter I was very scared about the whole labor part of it all, I think with the anxiety I had with her, it made things worse for me than they really were. With my son it was kinda of a wham bam type of thing, he came so fast, my husband ended up delivering him. The pain was not as bad as I had remembered from having my daughter and I unwillingly had him without any pain relievers, and it was not so bad. I guess the best advice would be to not get anxious and scared, there is pain but it is more like pressure, and if you go in with a clear mind and not so tense, it is so much easier. Focus on the task at hand, dont focus on the pain and pressure, take it one moment at a time and deal with it as it comes. Liked Phillips Avent on Facebook and they were out of bottles for the sharing :(
I remember packing for the hospital, but I really don't remember what I packed. I think I was just so overwhelmed with the prospect of having a baby.
Leading up to childbirth I was so scared about the pain, especially for my first child. I delivered my first child naturally - no drugs or anything. My second birth I had to get an epidural. It was imperative.

And I have to tell you, even though I have a good five months, we're already starting to prepare in little ways for baby. This is my husband's first and he's super excited and supportive. He's also bordering on obsessive when it comes to preparations. We have discussed what to bring to the hospital for the delivery (movies, computer, music, my favorite bathrobe for comfort items...) And we have already done some work on the nursery. We'll start doing more when we know the baby's sex.
Just eager to have a healthy baby around the house...

I love that you're already thinking ahead about what you will bring to the hospital. All of those thing you mentioned are so great. I also brought along flip-flops. I'm so particularly about showers. That's just my thing :)

This is my third pregnancy and its been a little more diffcult than the others. I have swelling some and my legs hurt all the time. I pee constantly and cant sleep well. but i love the baby kicks and movement and the ultrasounds I found out what sex the baby is thursday and im excited.
I always pack a outfit to sleep in and one to go home in and the baby car seat in the car at least a month before.

The only thing that helped me was knowing that i would have a little baby when it was done. With my first son i had the epdiural and it worked and with my second i had it but it wore off before and i felt everything but the one good thing out of both was my babies.
I cant sleep well anyway but i do sleep mostly on my left side with my knees curled up.
Find a focal point and keep focused on it. For each of my pregnancies this has always been something different, from a painting on the wall to my husband's eyes.
For sleeping, I surrounded myself with lots of pillows, including a special large C-shaped pillow. I found sleeping on my left side with pillows all along my back and one between my knees.

Wow, your husband delivered your child! That's pretty incredible. I'm not sure my husband could do it.
