I actually love your blog. I'm not a big fan of flashy design when it's not appropriate. So I think your blog deisng and header are all good. I like that you share deals and travel tips. I don't think it's something the blogosphere it oversaturated with, since people LOVE deals and you can never have too many. I also like that your blog fills a need. Overall I think it's good stuff.
So you travel a lot? I would transform this blog into a travel focused blog. I think it would be ok for you to continue blogging about other things too, but focus on travel if you are doing a lot of it. Get a professional style template there are lots of free ones around.
No Google ads.
Create an ad campaign of your own. sell ads to companies that would interest your readers. Not via Google though. Blogging moms want to know what companies YOU like and recommend.
Create a button for your layout for others to grab and host on their blogs. Other traveling bloggers can be found and brought to you and become faithful followers.
