I think your layout and background look good, it makes the site easy to read. I really like the boxes over on the right side, separating the different types of resources available. You have some great content in your archives and I think it would be good to highlight some of it to help visitors browse around your site. Maybe you could add a new box there on the left and highlight things like your Mom Interviews or Ask the Moms segments? You have some great discussions going on the Ask the Mom comments, so it would be great to highlight that visitor contribution.
