Hey there, noticed a few people mention running and I think one that actually mentioned the C25K program. Its a great way to learn how to run 5K comfortably without burning out. It takes 9 weeks and I've just finished week 2 and looking forward to being able to run 5K by the beginning of next year.
Thought it would be good if anyone wants to discuss, share info etc, we could do it here. I'll start first:

The Couch to 5K plan explained

Must have music podcast with cues that will help you get through with the added bonus of the women Carli who made the podcast being very supportive

Their are loads of other iphone apps and podcasts, but so far I've most enjoyed Carli's.

its addictive isn't it :)
Thanks for this post. I came across couch to 5k the other day and am thinking about starting it. It looks like a great workout plan that can really bring you a long way, but at the same time not "burn you out." Hearing the feedback here is just the motivation I need.
Go for it, Kelly. It really is excellent and doable by everyone. Would love to hear how you get on. I have been keeping in touch with a few people I met on the program through Facebook. Its great
cool. I was hoping to do a few 5Ks in January but have had ankle problems that are on the mend.
I start half marathon training next week - I'm so psyched. The marathon is May 1 so I am following a 12 week plan.
This is kinda what I'm up to : http://girlstoysrevue.com/2010/01/couch-to-5k-ive-graduated-now-what/

Ouch, running in jeans! LOL
This is the program I stumbled upon and I'm excited to start it. Been trying to find a treadmill due to lots of rain and 2 small children. Hoping to get started first of next week. Everyone having luck with this program?

Courtney, after finishing up C25K in Jan I did my first 12K race this weekend and am gearing up for a half marathon May 1, so I'd say its been pretty successful for me :)
Ive been doing week 1 of this for a bit on the treadmill, we we were building up/training for a Walking marathon OVERNIGHT in Manchester UK - which we did 17th April and finished in 9 hrs 40 min - Ive never ached so much !! but rather than resting on our laurels we have all signed up to do the Race for Life 5K on July 17th so am hitting the programme properly the main difference Ive found is that it is so much harder outdoors than on the treadmill - wish us luck x
YES! I'm doing it... but not very consistently! I have a 5K coming up this weekend and I'm only on Week FOUR! Yikes! Oh well, it will keep me motivated!

Hi!

Do you prefer that app to the Nike Plus app? Im interested.

Thanks!

This thread seems a little old, but is anyone out there still doing C25K? I am in Week 7, but I decided to try my luck and do a 5K this last Friday -- and I finished!! http://www.sarahmcow.com/my_weblog/2011/04/run-like-hail.html

Hi all!

I just finished week 3 today.  Getting back into running after baby #2. I'm using DailyMile to track my runs.
