In the last two years, I’ve moved to four different cities. As a mother with two little girls, it hard to make friends. I don’t make friends just because you’re a mother and have a bonding experience with all other mothers.   I won’t instantly be your BFF because our children are the same age or we have the same number of children. Just because we both carried a child in our uterus does not mean we have anything in common other than motherhood.

I want real friends, not just mommy friends, friends I actually want to hang out with, without our children. The friends you like to chat with about things other than kids; friends who help with dishes, friends who hang out during morning sickness that last nine months, friends you keep once you move away. That is what I want and what I long for. When Baby Girl #1 was four months old, I started Stroller Strides. Stroller Strides is a workout programs for mothers with strollers. Wherever I move I have always been able to find a group.
