I agree, something is wrong with that! In the effort to try to "go green" many folks have endured the same nightmare you have only to find it wasn't for them! Me included. When I camp, I choose to camp in a fully equipped motor home, or camper! When I say fully equipped, I mean, microwave, shower, laundry facility either inside the camper or at the campsite, flushing toilet, and at least a Queen sized mattress to sleep on. Oh, I forgot the refrigerator, stove and air conditioner/heater! Have I left anything out?

Oh, I do encourage everyone to first try camping out in your own yard, so as soon as the bugs start annoying you, or the raccoons begin feeding on your left over marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate bars, you can run inside to the comfort of your own home!

Happy Camping,

Hello ladies!

I am so perplexed! We went camping for 3 days and I came back with 45 loads of laundry. How can 4 people generate that much dirty stuff in such a short amount of time? The bigger question really should be ... wasn't electricity and indoor plumbing invented so that it would no longer be necessary to camp? We have these nice conveniences at home so instead of staying there and enjoying them we spend a lot of money buying tents, sleeping bags, lanters, etc. so that we can sleep on the ground, cook over fire and feel dirty for several days in a row. Something seems wrong with that!

Camryn, I love Amazing Race too but I just know if my hubby and I did that show together, we'd end up divorced!

Shannon-- I don't know who would watch my kids either if I were to try it--but the chance to race around different countries and husband and I can get quite competitive--but in a fun way. There is just something appealing about doing stupid things and having fun while you're doing it ;)
My only fear would stem if they made me do the BASE jumping. Yeah....I'd have to wear a depends if I were forced to do that....

Hi Ladies,
Just thought I'd share my latest post with you ... the idea came to me after spending a week in Ohio with my preteen daughter. Who is quite lovely, but challenging! ;0)

It's called "Preteen Prounoncements" at

(And I still can't add a hyperlink on this group for some reason. I think it's something funky with my computer. I can add images and files, but not the links. Grrrr....)

Camryn-My sister in law have talked for years about being on the Amazing Race! I could never race with my husband. He is notoriously, and I mean REALLY slow. And my mom would the other next best person but she can be a little bit of an air head sometimes, God bless her. Problem is, I have 3 teens, my SIL has 3 kids 5 and under. No Amazing Race for us anytime soon. I think we are in the amazing race now that I think about it! :)
