The new trend in (mom) blog giveaways- what is your take on creative presentations?

I am seriously not thrilled with what I have been noticing on a lot of blogs lately- the trend to share one prize among many blogs- am I the only one who sees that as cheap and tacky?

I wrote a whole long post HERE on it breaking it down but one of the recent back to school giveaways lately across 8 blogs lately basically gave everyone 288 chances (and they could do more) to win one not all that valuable prize package.

Really love more opinions on this, because it is a trend I am hoping bloggers as well as entrants will see as not worth it.

yeah i didn't bother with those cuz you're right they weren't that impressive of items and honestly i was totally confussed about it and how the heck it could possibly work
I didn't bother with them either as I figured the odds of winning were stacked up against me.
I have not seen this yet.
I can definitely see your point with that amount of chances (and time commitment to enter that many times) as being not worth it, But, I didn't see it as cheap and tacky. Instead, I saw the great potential for networking between blogs and sharing traffic as well as getting extra views on each post - which I had been excited about. I have been dying to get part of a Blog Hop group that does multi-blog giveaways and can't seem to get connected with people who are likeminded. I honestly hadn't even thought of the fact that they were all sharing one prize, it just never even crossed my mind. The way these are run make it hard to gauge how many people are actually entering, but the fact that there are so many of these tells me they are wildly successful. I would love to hear how other view them as well, in case I ever do get invited to one of these :)
While I can definitely see how it benefits the bloggers (they get the product and the traffic and backlinks etc) quite frankly they are getting TONS of advertising and what I don't see the benefit to is the ones who are doing all the entries- If it was for a MAJOR prize- like a car or really expensive appliance, yes, but only giving out one prize I do kind of see as cheap- just putting it on a blog is super-cheap and effective advertising, I don't see why they can't all give out one prize per blog is all, that's the part I thought was cheap.
