Through the Bible in 2010

Through the Bible in 2010

Reading the whole Bible seems like an impossible task but I plan to do it through the year of 2010. Starting on Jan 1 I will post what chapters we will read and then we can talk about them, share key verses, or whatever else we decide : )

A few great things stood out to me today in Prov 13. First of all, I have read through the Proverbs thousands of times (there are 31 chapters, one for every day of the month - so we read through them monthly when I was a kid). But, God's Word is living - so despite reading something thousands of times, you can still glean something new. And I did today:

Verse 4: The sould of the diligent shall be made rich. It didn't say the bank account or wallet. LOL!!! But, to have a rich soul - that is something money cannot buy.

And verse 7 - "There is one who makes himself rich, yet [has] nothing; [And] one who makes himself poor, yet [has] great riches." This reminded me of Matthew 5 "Blessed are the poor in spirit". One who realizes that without God and His grace we are literally bankrupt has great riches because that man has just opened himself up for all the riches of the kingdom. :) I think that's what it means when it says "Makes himself poor". I don't think it means one has to live poor (have nothing to call one's own) to be holy - but we do have to admit our poor spiritual state and our poverty of soul to be rich in God's kingdom (the only place where riches count for anything).

Hey everyone,

I lost the book that I have been getting the readings from because my little one loves to take off with them and "read" them : ) So cute but I have been looking for it everywhere and can't locate it.

So I went on BibleGateway and am just going to go by that. It doesnt stay in one book of the Bible like we were doing but I still love it.

Feb 23 2010 - Numbers 5-6, Mark 4: 1-20
Feb 24 2010 - Numbers 7-8, Mark 4: 21-41
Feb 25 2010 - Numbers 9-11, Mark 5: 1-20

Sorry about the misplaced book and the lacking of daily reading postings : ( The hubby went out of town for 45 days so I have been packing and getting everything ready for that.

Any prayer request? How is everyone doing with the readings?

I am a little behind but have been trying to catch up : ) Just been so busy but am telling myself I HAVE to make time for this.

How is everyone else doing?

I am fixing to post the readings. Sorry - I know that I seem to always be late with this...

Has anyone else fallen off the wagon or am I the only one? I was doing so well when I joined. Then I just ended up doing my own thing with Bible study.

I really want to get through the entire Bible. Hmmm... Anyhow, I'm enjoying Hebrews.
