Hello! My family and I are planning a trip to meet up with my in-laws at a beach somewhere between Virginia and Savannah, GA in July. I'm hoping to find something off the beaten path, so to speak. The beach I would most like to visit would be like the one at Anastasia State Park, in St. Augustine, FL. It's more of a state park, and has plenty of interesting shells, wildlife, and privacy, making it a great choice for families.
Do you have any recommendations for me?
I'm building up my travel blogging, and will launch a family-travel specific blog (separate from my current personal one) during the summer. In the past year, we've traveled to:
Concord, NC (The Great Wolf Lodge); Lexington Park, MD; Washington, DC; Helen, GA; Pigeon Forge, TN; St. Augustine, FL; Daytona Beach, FL; Kissimmee, FL; Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and Disney World!
We are just getting started! (And you can see why we don't wish to travel south of Savannah, GA now, right? A lot of Florida!)
Any special beach suggestions would be welcome! Thank you in advance for your help!
You should check out Folly Beach in Charleston, SC! There you'll get a beautiful beach and can venture into town for southern charm. Perfect!
