There are events Thursday and Monday, I believe, that are family oriented. That health museum is awesome, and the Biltmore is gorgeous. My kids (9, 11) loved the KidCon last year. When I went to pick them up, they said, "Go away. We can eat dinner here!" So, Sandra, your 11 yo will probably have stuff to do there.

OK! By the way, are there social events that kids can/could attend? My son is signed up for Kid Con, and he's old enough to stay in the room on his own for a bit, but I'm wondering what other options we might have.

Jerri Ann is sharing a room with me! There's going to be 3 in my room so if we're late to everything, please understand :)

Jerri Ann, I ended up reserving a room at the non discount price because I really, really want to stay on site since I'm traveling with my 11yo son. I'd be thrilled to share the room, especially at the discounted price, but you'd be getting me & my son. We are easy, flexible, very experienced travelers, but we've never shared a room with a stranger before. Given all of that, if you're interested in sharing your room with us, let me know! My email is sandrafoyt@yahoo.com

Jessica, I didn't realize you were going, how fun, I guess I'll get to see you again. I was wondering about the events that families could go to as well, does anyone know, I'd love to introduce you all to my daughters (and maybe Daddy B too)

Jerri Ann! Why didn't you say something sooner? I was looking for a roomie, but just found one. Put the word out on Twitter and the Facebook Type-A Mom page under discussions. Hope you find someone. Plan on hanging with me!
