I love wine! But recently found out my husband is allergic to alcohol! We even got engaged on a wine tasty trip, so we're both bummed!

I also make my own butter and bread, when I have the yearning to, which is usually just special occasions. It's hard to make a lot of homemade foods with a toddler around, LOL! Reading this, I think I need my own goat or cow!

At last, a group hand-tailored for me, LOL! I love wine and I love to make good wine. It started as a Christmas present and now I just can't stop making my own cabs and chards. My hubby makes cheese, so we're a right pair!

I should mention that I had a whole case shipped back from Italy, so that was not the only bottle I had. (That was back during a time when I had a little extra money... not so much any more...) Anyhow, toasting to a baby sleeping might not seem like a big deal, but you don't know what we went through to get him to sleep at all. At the time, it was worth opening the bottle. No regrets. I am the same way Emily...I love my nightly chard, and have been kicking around an idea for a blog post about wine, I do lots of toasts too! I read your post about the special bottle...I have a Castello D'Albola Chianti my mother in law brought me from Italy last fall, waiting for the right night to try it!

I'd love to read other mama posts about wine. I love writing about wine... almost as much as I love drinking it. My blog doesn't have a ton of posts specifically about wine, but I do raise a lot of toasts! One of my earliest posts-- Poliziano Vino Nobile di Montipulciano-- was about my opening a special bottle after my finicky son cried himself to sleep. Anyhow, please share.

Nice thing about Trader Joes (if you're lucky enough to have one nearby) is that the wine is relatively inexpensive and heavily screened for quality. They seriously won't put something on the shelf simply because they could buy it at a good price. They have trained wine tasters at their HQ that are pretty strict. You can be fairly certain that the $5.99 bottle you just picked up won't be foul. I pity those in Connecticut and elsewhere who have TJs that can't sell alcohol:(
