Hi everyone,

As a working mother, guilt can often, sadly, be our best friend! Here is a post on Mommy brings Home the Bacon about dealing with working mom guilt.

We’d love for you to join in and share how you slay the “G” monster!

Thanks!

Warmly,

My kids are teens (14 and 15) and we see that we really enjoy our time together.  I work at home, but have to be "away" as if I'm at the office at times.  They know and understand that it's necessary and understand what's going on.  All guilt goes.  They're great and they know that we're a team, as they have learned quite young when they help me in the house, it also makes it possible for me to work and put food on the table, etc.  Lessons in how to manage money also banish guilt.  They're great. :)  Your time with them, even as little ones, will be so special always.  You'll see.  Tough, but not impossible.  We have some of our best time talking, doing nails together, etc. whereas if I was with them 24/7 we might be in front of the TV more.

Hi!

My baby is four months and I feel so guilty every time I go out the door to go to work. I feel even more guilty when sometimes I feel happy being in the office. Haven't slain the G monster yet :) But I try spend the whole evening playing and talking with my baby when I get home without distractions like TV, Facebook etc. hehehe.

This was great! I actually wrote an article on this http://www.perspectiveparenting.com/2011/03/13/the-curse-of-mothers....

Honestly, my guilt has dissipated tremendously the more independent my children have become.  And the more I do for myself, the happier I am and in turn the happier my kids and family are. Guilt sucks!!

I belong to a mom's group that recently read several wonderful books about this topic. It's called Mothering without Guilt and you can get it from Amazon for 8.99http://http://www.amazon.com/Mothering-Without-Guilt-Others-Ordinar.... I thought it was great to share with other moms as well. But even reading it individually, it was worthwhile.

I had a really nice situation where I was able to work from home for the first year after my son was born. VERY stressful, but being with him more than made up for it. I am at a crossroads now so we will see what happens :)

I am a full time art director but most importantly, a mom. I am very passionate about both jobs and look forward to inspiring other moms to make room for creativity and style.
