Know of any ezines/websites paying for articles? please read even if you don't

I WAS writing for a certain ezine/blog and researched, polled and created an article and submitted it only to have the owner quit and not post any of our August articles. Normally I submit an article a month and get paid a small amount in exchange. So now I have this article (somewhere between 800-1200 words, don't remember at the moment) and nowhere to put it. I don't want to just put it on my blog because I don't get that many visitors and it's important that lots of people read it. It's about parenting when you have a mental illness. This is an under talked about problem and the article is mostly quotes from parents with mental illness with some words of my own thrown in. I want a large audience so that lots of people will learn more about mentally ill parents. If just my few blog readers read it, I won't teach anybody anything.

So can you help me out?

Another option to get your post out there (probably not paid) is to sign up at http://BloggerLinkUp.com/ and maybe you can write a guest post for a blog with a large readership.

It's a fantastic subject. I wish I knew where to tell you to begin. I would suggest going large with it, like find a NYT reporter who does this topic - parenting with mental illness. I am interested in reading it just based on your description here. Try Mothering Magazine. They have a huge audience and they like substance. LD Online is looking for first person stories under 1000 words for writers with Learning Disabilities. Why not search the mental health or the parenting sites that cater to this audience and see if they have guest writers.

Check out elance.com - they post lots of different writing opportunities. Also, I know eHow.com is looking for writers - I believe they pay around $15 per article. Good luck!

You should check out the 'Writer's Market' to see which magazine might be interested in publishing your article.

There are a few websites out there. The pay isnt much but you get ad revenue etc and at best a small payment

Hi, Amy Musing had some great suggestions. I write for Associated Content and suite101 and they only pay per page views (and not very much, I'm talkin' pennies), wish I knew of something better. One site that I have found really helpful is Accentuate Writer's Forum: http://www.accentuatewritersforum.com/ The writer's community there has so far been very welcoming and helpful, maybe they could point you in the right direction.
