Sorry to add to your bad morning. Not at all my intention. However, I am an avid fan of blogging and this is the only time I have ever advertised a business related thing on this website. I've posted plenty about my life and mom moments. I'm not here strictly for clients. I didn't join this site simply for growing my business. I joined because I am a mom who writes about raising and supporting a family! I understand where you are coming from about not wanting it to become a website dedicated to sales, but this is a form of supporting my family. A family about which I blog on a weekly basis. It would seem that we belong to a few of the same groups, and I'm sorry if you received multiple posts, but this is social networking site, which people use to make friends and share common interests (which may or may not include makeup and other accessories). I know that you have not received things like this in the past from me because today is the first and only time i intended to do it. I am passionate about writing as much as you are, I'm not here just to gain sales. I thought that this would be a good place to advertise mainly because there are a lot of women who, in the midst of being a busy mom, would like to look good without having to really try because they don't have the money or the time to invest in expensive products. I think that has a lot to do with moms and their daily experiences. Anyway, as I said before, I won't be posting about this again, so you can stop worrying about having to read too much junk. However, just because you don't share an interest with someone doesn't mean no one else is.

And thank you Yang Mommy! You can see by my bad attitude, things haven't gotten much better around here. :)

Alright, I'm going to be a b*&tch again here (because I'm seeing multiple posts like this in ALL the groups I belong to). Again, I may just be crabby because I had a REALLY bad morning...but now I'm thinking I'm actually on to something.

Can we NOT put ads for businesses up on these boards? Blogs - FINE! Writing websites - Fine! Pushing a book or article published or sold? FINE!!!!!!! I just don'g want things like clothing and make-up and accessories to be pitched to me here. I get enough junk mails. As I said to the Funny Mom Group, in MY opinion (and I'm not speaking for anyone else) this site is for bloggers who are trying out new material, getting started, down the road and sharing, looking to expand their reader base, and/or just plain supporting each other, trying to grow their reader base - and just doing what they can to grow their writing careers. I, personally, would not want to see this turn into yet another place I need to filter through "sales" posts to find things "pertinent" to what I'm supposed to be finding here. I don't have the time. Anyone else agree or am I just having a pre-menapausel moment.

Sarah, your blog was the perfect thing to put a smile on my face this morning. Thanks! Alas, I live across the country so sharing a mojito would be difficult but "slainte" nonetheless!

PS Good for you for being the mommy-lion in the library. Well handled!
Comment by Sarah Maizes on February 8, 2010 at 7:34pm son just stabbed himself with a pencil. Again. I'm telling you...this stuff practically writes itself. If you read, I hope you'll comment and let me know your kid's a spaz too.

Holly, that is a great post! I'm just beginning my freelance-writing career, having exited a successful career in marketing. I've several queries & stories out and I'm just crossing my fingers. Meantime, I'm writing when I can, or should I say, when my tot allows me :) It never fails that the creative juices start flowing right when there's a toddler emergency!
We SAHM writing moms need to stick together and encourage each other all we can. Thanks again for the tips!

Holly - what a great article! You're a better person than I for putting all that together! Very helpful.
