Halloween is not only a colourful night of fun, frights, sweets and costumes. It is a full-blown industry, with more than $14 billion spent each year on costumes, decorations, party supplies, candy and other paraphernalia.

How did it all get started?

Read about it on my blog, Mayra's Secret Bookcase.

Happy Halloween! :-)

I have the free elance account and signed up for writing/translation. But now I dont know how to switch it to data entry..since my squidoo lens and promotion is taking up time now, I might try figure that out next month or so.

I understand, My very first project was for 100 articles. I wrote 25 a week by doing 5 a day. But I still do that for myself in promoting my own affiliate products, so it wasn't a big deal for me. But yes, I understand your problem. How about choosing jobs that are not so intense, such as data entry..or is writing the only thing you want to do?

Those are the ones I search into..but they ask like 5-10 articles a day..I can do 3-5 rewrites I guess..but not each day..and what if the kid falls sick?Or something comes up? That is what my concern is..

@angie: I really should do one like that but got no resources.
@itsangel: that is great! I guess staying persistent with elance helps. I just am troubled by the fact that most of the writing jobs are too huge. I am not sure I can dedicate all my time on 1 contract you know?Since I have only done 1 job, I still have to bid low and see what I can get...

Hi Debbie
I have been on Elance since May 2008, I did the same thing. I bid lower to earn my first few jobs, to get int he door. I always check the buyers award ration before I buy, if it is less then 50 percent preferably higher, I won't bid on his job.
I just won a long term position that had 50 proposals by sending the buyer a note asking him if he needed anything else from me, etc. this showed I was interested in the job.
He called me, and interviewed me and I won the proposals. When there are a lot of bids, keeping your name out front is the name of the game.

Has anyone put together a freelance resume? I found a couple of examples online, but I think I need a simpler version. Anyone willing to share?
