I'm new to MBC and wanted to say Hello!

Thought for the Day:

"Gifts are an interesting thing...We have a responsibility to these gifts; to honor the truth that sits deep in our souls, waiting to be lived--waiting for us to do something, to help someone, to initiate change in our little part of the universe."

I don't mind the awards. I think it's just another way to network. Some of them do get a little out of hand, like the ones you have to pass along to 15 other bloggers. It's time consuming. I have to agree that I do like getting them, but they are a lot of work to keep up with. I've passed some along, and some receivers did not play along. I had no problem with that. It's okay to just say thanks.

OY! Those chain mails! I haven't figured out if I should be flattered or want to kill someone. SO nice to get an award, but SO much work involved AND it makes your blog look so crappy when you do it - those "thank you" posts you need to put up don't look anything like my usual posts and are totally incongruous! I'm afraid if I post my top 25 favorite things my readers will just turn off. I have such mixed reactions too. I am grateful, on one hand, but my other hand is telling me this is a "chain" way for people to get their name on your blog. Anyone else have thoughts?

Some write to tell stories, to get things off their chests, to build an audience. I've been thinking of how two of my favorite writers inspire me to greater wonder and deeper understanding through their use of craft. I've been thinking about how writing, for me, reflects my spiritual search for meaning.

This post may be of interest to other writing mamas.

I received an interesting award - kind of like chain mail for blogging... is this a new trend? Or have I just been out of the loop? What do you think?

I have TWO pieces FEATURED on More.com this week and I'm FREAKING OUT!

PLEASE help me by just peeking at them and pressing the "i liked it" button at the end of the 2nd page of each article (that is...IF you liked it). The editors look at this stuff.
