Hi fellow writers!
I need your help! I am working on an article on how humor can be healing in relationships (specifically parenting relationships). I am looking for parenting anecdotes/experiences of how parents used humor to help their child cope/heal in the face of grief, failure or unexpected crisis. These don't have to be life-shattering examples. They can be about using humor in everyday situations of loss -- like not making a sports team, or being rejected by peers or losing a friendship.

My deadline to send my outline to the publication is tomorrow (Monday, the 14th). If you think that you have a story or perhaps a general philosophy about humor that works in your family, could you please email me asap at melinda@parentingconfessions.com? If it's something I think I can use, I will contact you and make arrangements for a brief phone interview.

Thank you!!

I am a SAHM and would love to learn about freelancing opportunites. Thanks for this group!

Hi, writer moms. I wanted to share this article I wrote about my son. Like the Cat's in the Cradle song, my boy is just like me. But not like the Cat's in the Cradle song bc it's not sad.

Here is also a direct link to my blog:

I am a new writer and blogger and am very interested in learning more about freelance writing careers. I know very little about how the process, timing, success rate, variations between different types of media and writing, etc.
I am glad to find this group, and hope I can learn from you all!
By the way I'm reading 2 great books - Writer Mama by Christina Katz and Working Writer Happy Writer - can't remember the author. Both are on Amazon.com.

Save Money on Event Planning

Whether we like it or not, we will all at one point have to wear the event planning cap. Why is that? Because we are human, and along with our humanity come life celebrations: baby showers, weddings, graduations, anniversaries, retirements, funerals, and the list goes on and on. I'm sure that I don't…
