Hi Amy- I use Purex Free and Clear (with fuzzi bunz and bum genius) and that works pretty well. I strip mine with oxyclean every now and then, but find that if I'm good at washing them every two days, then that keeps the stink out pretty good! :)

Amy,
I've used charlie's soap and All Free in Clear. I absolutely LOVE the Charlie's soap, and if it was easier to find I would have kept on using it...it's the best for cloth diapers because it doesn't leave behind ANY residue, but you do have to check their website to see what stores in your area carry it.

With All Free in Clear, I am having to strip my diapers every now and then with vinegar to keep the "fishy" smell out. Other than that, I am pretty satisfied.

Hi all,
I'm planning to use cloth diapers with our new baby (due any day!). We're going with Bum Genius one size. I'd love to hear about your experiences with different types of detergent. I've read a ton of websites about the subject but some seem to recommend different things in terms of what to avoid in choosing a detergent. It would be nice if I could find a detergent that is available at the regular grocery store and don't have to special order anything. What have your experiences been with different detergents?

Katy, this is totally my MOBY! I used a bunch of other carriers for 3 months before finally breaking down and trying a Moby...I was afraid it would be too difficult. Now, we use it so much that I just got rid of my stroller!!!

We use mostly prefolds, but our diaper covers are AMAZING at preventing leaks. I've tried a bunch, and I LOVE Thirsties Diaper Covers! I swear they've kept in poop-splosions that would have defeated a disposable :-)

Hi Katie, For wipes I just wet them with tap water and keep them in a wipe warmer. They stay moist for a day or two and are just the right temp for baby bottoms.
