Who are we? - From left to right --  Cooper Munroe (The Motherhood) | Elisa Morgan (Fulfill Magazine) | Emily McKhann (The Motherhood) | Jennifer James (Mom Bloggers Club) | Jyl Johnson Pattee (Mom It Forward) | Karen Walrond (Chookooloonks) | Lindsay Maines (Rock and Roll Mama) | Rachel Fox (Coming Alive) | Shayne Moore (Global Soccer Mom)

Why are we going to Kenya? To listen, learn and share stories with moms from all walks of life. We'll be blogging, tweeting, taking video and photos while we're there! Be sure to follow the #ONEMoms hashtag and the Moms page.

Wow! I bet you learned a lot there. I've never heard of the Maroons. Interesting!
Comment by Jeanine Ertl on May 29, 2011 at 6:43pm
I hope to go to Africa someday, but the people we worked with in Peace Corps were the Maroons. Africans brought to northern South America (now Suriname) as slaves who successfully revolted and established themselves in the tropical rainforest. Inspiring!

Thank you, Jeanine! I personally have never been to Africa. I can't wait to go to Kenya and report back on our discoveries!!
Comment by Jeanine Ertl on May 29, 2011 at 5:37pm
So glad to see a build-up to this trip. As a former Peace Corps volunteer overseas, I can't wait to follow the observations.
