Life Changes I Wish I’d Made Sooner

By the time I turned 25, I was sure my life was a single-lane highway.

We’re all busy moms. Balancing kids, work, blogs and a social life can make for a hectic existence. HP and five-time Olympian Dara Torres want you to imagine how an HP Mini with Windows® 7 Starter could simplify your everyday tasks, work the way you want, and make new things possible.

Check out the videos of Dara below for inspiration. She uses the 3.22 lb HP Mini 311 with its full-size keyboard and 11.6” HD screen to balance a grueling training schedule with her family life and work on her upcoming fitness book. She also uses Windows® 7 features like Jumplists, Shake, Snap, and Pin to help her manage all her digital content.

Want to win a HP Mini of your own? Blog about how you’d use one to smooth the bumps in your crazy day and then tweet the link using the hashtags #HP and #Win7. The three most creative entries will win a Tord Mini of their own.

There is also a chance for your readers to win prizes. See below for more detailed information. Learn more about HP Minis and Windows 7. Also, check out product reviews from Christine Koh of Boston Mamas and Felicia Carter from Go Graham Go.

To be a "Simplify My Life" winner, write a blog post about how an HP Mini 110 with Windows 7 will simplify your life.

Encourage your readers to write a comment on your post because we will randomly give away three (3) HP Mini 110-1100 by Studio Tord Boontje PCs to readers who leave a comment on entrants' sweepstakes posts.

Your post must be a minimum of 150 words and a maximum of 1,000 words, and must include at least two of the provided images or embed one of the Dara Torres videos above.

Your post must be announced on Twitter with the hashtags #HP and #Win7. That’s how we’ll know you have entered.

By participating in the promotion, you certify that no intellectual property rights were violated, with the exception of verbatim inclusion of the provided messaging, photos, or video. All content must be owned by you.

Only one entry per blog.

You must be a member of the Mom Bloggers Club, at least 18 years of age, and a resident of the US or Canada to enter.

Deadline for entries is January 20, 2010 at midnight ET.

Entries will be judged by an esteemed panel of four judges starting on January 21. The grand prize winner will be announced on Friday, January 29, 2010.

Reader winners will be randomly drawn using and will be based on the order in which bloggers enter the sweepstakes and post on Twitter. Winners will be announced on Friday, January 29, 2010.

Christine Koh

I’ve heard a lot about netbooks this year, but hearsay has been the limit of my exposure. A netbook could provide a budget-friendly central solution for those who simply need writing and internet tools, or offer someone like me a compact way to blog and surf remotely while not needing to haul around my life’s work. The Mini 110 also appeals to my design sensibilities (via modern nature inspired motifs) and my commitment to eco-living (via a mercury-free LED backlit display for increased energy efficiency, as well as packaging and user guides made from recycled materials and printed with soy based inks). Read more.
Felicia Carter

First of all, this netbook is unlike any other you have seen. Because it was designed by Studio Tord Boontje, it has a one of a kind design that features 3D endangered animals overlaying a gorgeous flower and lace design. It is actually a brand new process called "HP Imprint 3D." Even certain visual settings contain the design ("loading bar," screen saver, wallpaper, and more). You can find Tord Boontje's work from the museums in London to your local Target store, bringing sophisticated art work into the average consumers home. Green mamas will love the fact that this computer has a 10.1 inch mercury free LED backlit display for increased efficiency. Read more.

My post never showed up on the RSS. Does that mean it isn't included in the contest? Just making sure!

Hi Lain,

Sorry I just saw your post.

Maybe this will help? She has them all sorted into one spot on Delicious.

Hope that helps :)

Woohoo Keonte! Is there anything we can do to make sure you are THE finalist in the wedding contest??? Like voting or commenting somewhere? Let me know. I wish you tons of luck! Are you getting married soon?
Comment by Keonté on January 24, 2010 at 12:36am
Thanks. I guess you can see them if we follow each other. There is so much excitement going on. I am a finalist in a Wedding in a Week contest. I could really use the HP Mini to help me plan. Can't wait to see who the winners are. Good Luck everyone!

Thanks, Unconditional Mom -
I did a search with those hashtags and came up with a bunch of unrelated stuff. Usually we have to post a comment with our links so I was wondering what the deal was this time around. I was looking forward to checking out the "competition" and leaving some comments, but it's tough to do that if they're not all in one place!
Oh well...
Comment by Jamaise on January 23, 2010 at 3:08pm
I sure hope all the last minute entries were included. I'm sure they have been, there's just no way to confirm it. Or is there? :))
Comment by Desiree on January 23, 2010 at 2:45pm
Good luck to EVERYONE!

Hi Keonte -- I saw your tweet awhile back. You're good to go!
Comment by Keonté on January 21, 2010 at 8:01pm
I know the contest has ended, but I have a Twitter account with tweets that do not show up in the search. Awhile ago, a few of us lost this capability at a Twitter party. How will you be able to see my entry. I have already submitted the url, but it will not show up in the search.
Comment by Jennifer | on January 21, 2010 at 5:33pm
Hi Lain :)

Your post must be announced on Twitter with the hashtags #HP and #Win7. That’s how we’ll know you have entered.

I hope this helps. I just saw that no one answered and wanted to help. Hope you don't mind :)
Comment by Jennifer | on January 21, 2010 at 5:31pm
Thanks Jean, same to you :)
Comment by Lain Ehmann on January 21, 2010 at 4:30pm
So people don't have to post their links here? However can one tell who entered???
Comment by Nicole on January 21, 2010 at 11:57am
Sigh. I posted my entry yesterday on my main blog which runs BlogHerAds. They just emailed me and said I need to either remove the post, move it to an ad-free page (which I don't think Blogger can do) or be removed from the BlogHerAds network. Anyone else have this problem? Please msg me with how you handled it.
