Mom, as I was driving in my car on Academy between Wyoming and San Mateo, the song Happy Mother's Day was created. When I arrived at home, I immediately picked up a guitar and wrote the melody in a couple of hours. The lyrics as simple as they are took weeks. Recording it was a two month long project because I played every instrument, not at the same time, but I also was the engineer at the same time, so it quite frustrating and difficult, but in the end I believe it is a very good quality recording for a home recording.
There is a warm happy touchy feely funness about it and I play it over and over again and never get tired of listening to it. That is why I believe it is good.
Now the video really put the icing on it. I think the video is great for a home video. It also took about two months to complete. I have never edited in this fashion where I have had to use backgrounds and outside scenes and needed to look through endless miles of footage of video to pick out just the right feeling for the words. Again, the video could have been done differently, but I believe I captured a beautiful feeling that this family has to offer for all the world to see. I hope you will agree with me when you listen to Happy Mother's Day.
Initially it was a spiritual feeling that I was after, and instead now every mommy who has had a child or is going to have a child, it is for them, the Mom's of the world to show them how very important each and every life that was born is because of MOM. Every child, and we are all children, should give this song to his or her MOM.
