Strong women should not crush weaker women: How do you do it?

I use to have a job that had a lot of prestige. . a great title. . offered me a great opportunity. But the lady I worked for cared more about making a dollar than she did about the people who worked for her. She would give you feedback that was honest, but it cut like a knife. I learned so much from that lady about running a business. . taking ownership of a product. . adhering to a scope. . providing quality work. . getting work done on time and under budget. I started off as a teenage mother, so I learned about raising my daughter as I matured into womanhood.

I'm now an adult with a daughter and two adolescent sons, so I spend the majority of my time thinking through the causes of some of the mistakes I made coming up and trying to shepherd my children in the right direction.
What is your blogging philosophy?
I go for humor. Life is funny. What can I say? I like to present life the way I see it - with a joke.

"Move!" That was the statement that started the battle between me and Fiance.

He walked over to my 8-year old, who was playing on my iPad and said, "Move!" My son frowned and looked at Fiance and then at me, and I softly said, "He meant excuse me, but move J." Fiance became angered and said, "No, I didn't."

Then, it was on.

His point: In my home, children can have the entire house, but my bedroom is my oasis.

My point: I work hard to teach the boys to be…

The Most Difficult Conversation with a 10 year old: Why Daddy had to leave

Posted on October 11, 2011 at 4:30pm 1 Comment

Three years ago I made the decision to let go of the man I had spent 14 years building a life with. It was a decision I made over the course of two years; battling with myself and those close to me who saw the destruction the relationship was creating in my life and in my spirit. It was really awful in the end. But it's over, and I'm happier.

But my children are not.

In fact, for 3 years, my 10 year old son has been unhappy, frustrated, violent, ill-mannered. I have gone…

Good Mommy Gone Mad

Posted on December 12, 2010 at 3:30pm 0 Comments

This morning was a "different" one.

The boys walk a half-block to the bus stop; yet I sit there in my car until I see the bus on the horizon before I go to work. This morning, my 7 year old hopped in the car as I pulled out of the garage and wanted a ride to the bus stop. That was "diferent."

When I saw the bus on the horizon (about 2 blocks away), I left for work. Traffic was awful, so it took me about 42 mins to actually get to work this morning.

As soon as I got to…

Thanks so much for reaching out. I live in Arkansas, and I can assure you there's not much of that going around when it comes to teen parenthood.. . I'm an adult now, and not an advocate of teen pregnancy, but also a realist.

I appreciate you. Look forward to reading your posts as well. . I have a feeling they will be oh so relate-able.
