What is your blog name?
a little bit rock n roll
What is your blog URL?
Share a little something about yourself with other moms.
I am a vegetarian mother of two adorable meat-eating children (they take after their adorable carnivorous father). I am also a high school teacher. The combination of mom and teacher means I always have crazy stories to share. My husband is a nurse in a busy E.R., which means he can always out-crazy my stories.
What is your blogging philosophy?
I like to write about the moments that add up to my life, the moments I worry about forgetting later. I also blog about books I'm reading, otherwise I can't remember anything I've read.
I have been blogging since...

It was my cardio day at the YMCA -- half an hour on the elliptical machine (likely created by a masochist) while actively reminding myself not to dance or sing outloud as my iPod blasted my favorite songs directly into my brain. Otherwise, I'm not down with sweat at all. I was working extra hard because not only do I watch the… Continue

"I'm not dead" (There it is -- another song by P!nk! Do you believe me now?)

I think my dad might be speaking to me from the grave. Except he doesn't really have a grave. His ashes are at my sister Taresa's house in a comfortable place on her bookshelf, waiting for his eight daughters to come to a consensus on just what to do with him -- imagine that process for a second. But a few times I have been certain that I have received messages from him. Okay, so there's no obvious poltergeist activity -- no spooky moving objects or footsteps or even doors closing (and… Continue

I hate to admit this, but I'm feeling guilty so I'd better share it with the world (or my few followers). I skipped my workout today. There it is. I said it. Let everyone know I am a lazy slob. How did I get to this foreign place of feeling anxiety over a missed workout? It was a long road, I tell you. A long, sweaty, arm-pitty road.

Read about how I went from being a non-work-out mom to a gotta-work-out mom here:
