Share a little something about yourself with other moms.
I am a single parent to two boys on the opposite ends of the autism spectrum. I homeschool the older one since it is safer than dealing with Middle School. I am the home health care worker for my severely autistic son who is 12, nonverbal and not toilet trained.

I like to watch Food Network and HGTV shows, Y&R, GH and Brothers and Sisters. I am a birth mother from 1978
What is your blogging philosophy?
I like to share about our autism family, which is basically me and two kids, family is on east coast and we are on west coast.

It is hard to go out among the crowds with my son, therefore we are a bit isolated but safer in the home where I can meet and share resources with others in similar situations.
I have been blogging since...
a few years, writing reviews since 2000
My favorite blog is...

Hi there from The Girlz Korner in upstate New York where you'll find light, witty and rather entertaining articles on every topic imaginable from The Little Black Dress to Making Whoopie. So if you get a chance to kick back and exhale, if only for a brief moment ... come on over and see me some time.

We are in California and do it with California Virtual Academy. There are several states that have virtual academies. They use K12 curriculum and there is no cost associated with it. He has an IEP as well and special ed teacher and reg teacher. We did conf calls 1 x a month and met with teacher one time a quarter at home. They loaned us a new computer and send the books and kits thru UPS. they are at http://www.caliva.org

I see you home school my son is 12 and I have wanted to transition into home schooling but am scared I can not give him the same education. When did you start home schooling and is it difficult to separate home from school and get him to do the work required? What does it cost? Sorry so many questions its just the same age group and I am very interested...

Thanks for your comment. We are so new to dealing with sensory processing--we just finally found an OT who is helping us. I'm sure you have a LOT of wisdom to share!
