About Me

A "little" About Me, so you'll know who I am.... My name is Cindi, and I’m a Mid-Life Baby-Boomer wife of over 30 years; mom of 2 grown daughters; and have 2 young grandchildren. I’m a native of New England, and live in an historic small town in Connecticut. My interests include Vintage Collectibles, shopping and of course, writing!

I started blogging in late 2007 to share my experiences as a WAHM, and have really grown to enjoy meeting new friends from all over the globe. Originally I had hoped to promote my eBiz through the blog, as well as to share information with my friends.

I'm the author of Moomette's Magnificents blog which covers e-commerce, Networking, eBiz, Bonanzle, Parenting and Grandparenting tips. My blog was recently voted and honored as Top 10 WAHM Blogs by Sparkplugging for 2008.

I also offer Product Reviews from the viewpoint of an experienced Baby Boomer Mom and Grandmom "who's been around the block."

Additionally, I talk about the personal musings and observations of a Baby Boomer Grandmother from New England, transitioning into retirement and reinventing a second career as a WAHM. Reflections of the trials & tribulations of being a Wife, Mom, Grandmom, Mentor, Boutique eBiz owner. Family, Women's & Social Issues, Politics ~ Whatever comes to mind. Hot-Flashing at it's finest.

I love to cook & share Recipes & Kitchen tips at my new blog, Moomettesgram's Favorite Recipes

As a Freelance writer, I'm a Type-A Mom Editor of Type-A Mom 50-Something Moms, Contributing Editor at Frugal WAHMs Product Reviews.

Additionally, I am a Contributing Editor at Roxy's Best of...Hartford (Connecticut) where I write about everything from restaurant and shopping to art, culture and kid stuff in the Nutmeg State! I also Freelance and contribute to Associated Content, e-How and am a Squidoo Lensmaster. You’ll also see that I am very passionate about the benefits of online education. After a 20-year break from when I first started college, I received my B.S. degree in Business Administration with a minor in Sociology from the University of the State of New York through accredited online studies while in my 40s. Afterwards, I then went on to complete another A.S. degree in Paralegal Studies, graduating Magna Cum Laude, all while working full-time and raising a family. For over 30 years I have been in the professional field of Law in the capacity as a Paralegal as well as Legislative, Regulations and Research Analyst, in both the public and private sectors. Taking my Paralegal Experience one step further, I have now established my website at CAM Virtual Assistant Services, and offer freelance Virtual Assistant Services for all your business and blogging needs. After being employed in the business community for many years as a Paralegal, I’m looking forward to retirement, being a Work-at-Home Grandma and sharing tips with all my fellow Baby Boomers on how to successfully transition from commuter to eBiz Mompreneur! I started my online presence on eBay store and quickly became a Power Seller. I now sell on Bonanzle, the new online marketplace and eBay alternative. Moomette's Magnificents on Bonanzle specializes in Vintage Sewing Patterns.

Bringing Home the Christmas Tree - Cut Your Own

Our family has had a real tree for over 30+ years. When the girls were little we would visit various Christmas Tree Farms in Connecticut and chop our own. My charming son-in-law, originally from Vermont, is a traditionalist, and grew up with real Vermont Balsams and Firs! It’s nice to see my oldest daughter and her family carrying on the tradition! http://moomettesmagnificents.com/blog/2009/12/09/over-the-river-and-through-the-woods-wordless-wednesday/" target="… Continue

Striking Skin Care – For Women Over 40 Giveaway $150 Value

I’ve always maintained a beauty regime for my face since I was a teenager. I’m fortunate to say that I’ve really never had acne, and have inherited good genes. My grandmom lived to be 101, and hardly had any wrinkles, and really looked at least 20 years younger than she was!

Over the years I’ve had many compliments about my skin.

Starting in my teens, I always removed my makeup at night and used an a… Continue

Lingerie: Or What Do You Do With This Stuff? A Baby Boomer Dilemma

I was going through my lingerie drawer thinking it’s about time I updated some of my “necessities.” Yet just the thought of shopping sends me into a tailspin.

Back in the good old days - the selection of undergarments for gals were pretty limited.

When I was a pre-teen, I started out with a training bra - those teeny tiny bras with expandable stretch fabric for my teeny tiny boobies.

When I got a little older, the undergarments that we wore were bras, slips and garter belts. Don’t know what a… Continue

Are You Having Trouble With Spyware or Malware?

As any parent of teenagers knows, or if you’re a blogger or WAHM, we spend a tremendous amount of time on the internet, - downloading plugins, using Skype, spending time on Twitter, Facebook, in forums and chat rooms.

An important thing to know is how to protect yourself while on the computer. Criminals have found ways to steal your information especially when you thought that you were safe. One way to thwart them is to employ anti-spyware and malware tools to protect yourself when you’re on th… Continue

Do You Have Mommy Hair?

Back in the early 1980s when I was a new Mom, Farrah Fawcett hair was all the rage! All my friends wanted to look like her, and we drove our hair stylists crazy! 3 WAHM Tips: Set Daily Goals and Loosen the Reins

When I was a kid, my grandmom used to have a favorite saying:

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy…

Most women can be micro-managers or control freaks. That’s not always a bad thing, but when you run a business from home and manage your household, the stress of trying to micro-manage every little detail can be unbearable. Learn to take it easy and make an attempt to delegate household duties and chores. Let all the family members pull their own weight in some form or manner.

Surely you… Continue

Last Shot At Summer Before Leaf-Peeping Season - Ogunquity Maine Vacationland

When my kids were little before they started school, we always took a vacation in September after Labor Day. The tourist crowds were usually thinner, and the hotel and motel rates rates were lower. We’d usually go to The Cape (Cape Cod), or down to the Virginia shore.

We haven’t done that in many years.

This year, we went to Olgunquit, Maine for a long weekend with our oldest daughter, charming son-in-law, his parents, sister and her family, and our grandkids. The inlaws all came from Vermont,… Continue
