That's very proactive of you! Hmm, advice? I'm sure the mommies here on MBC have tons of advice for you.
-Join a platform group for one (Blogger, WordPress etc.)
-Decide whether it's for fun or for your business.
-If you have the know how and money, design your own and host your own.
-Consistently devote time to your blog and remember, nice looking blogs are great (I love them) but content means more in the end!
-Keep up with your Followers
