Being Of Two Cultures And Belonging To Neither

For the first time in my life, I am making a sketch in print of a problem that has been on my mind for quite some time now. It is a problem that I can’t avoid just because of the circumstances of my life. The only credentials I have to reflect on the subject at all come through those circumstances, through nothing more than a set of chances; my very own experiences. Each part of my life is…See More

Let's Ask Again, Who Runs The World?

A wise man once told me that the man is the head, while the woman is the neck.  And a woman has the power to turn the head of the man in any direction she chooses. While I love Beyoncé and am enamored of her talent, her beauty, and ability to take creative risks I have a little bit of an issue with the fact her most recent album sparked such a debate once again about “feminisim”.  While you will find 1,980,000 results if you Google Beyoncé + Feminism (seriously) that stake claims on every side…See More

"My second child is so strong willed. I wasn't (and I'm still not) ready for him after having a more easy going first child. At least I know he'll always stick up for himself as he continues through life."

There certainly is no shortage of parenting books out there.  These books show you the latest and greatest tips for everything from getting your baby to sleep through the night to good behavior in general.  And, so often I am asked by my friends if I have read a particular book, and so often, the answer is that I have not.Why not?The short answer is that…See More

Ok. I don’t like to come off as critical or judgmental but this topic, I believe, deserves some second thought. As one of the most powerful and richest women in the world Oprah’s statement that she has no regrets having children does raise a few concerns, at least for me and for my daughter’s generation who will grow up emulating her success.…See More

Share a little something about yourself with other moms.
Becoming a mom was the most profound experience of my life. Nothing will ever be the same. As much as everyone already knew this - I believe that I fell into motherhood by accident. Of course, Life says there are no accidents....go figure. My sole purpose on this planet is to share my experience and knowledge with my children in hopes they can do better and go farther than I did.
That being said, after 3 children I feel somewhat lost and blogging helps me reconnect to a core part of who I am.
What is your blogging philosophy?
I write to clear me head. I write about everything to keep my sanity and to prove to myself that my brain still works.
I have been blogging since...
