Switching gears to pursue her lifelong passion to write, Kate produced dozens of columns and articles for Southern Progress Corporation, a subsidiary of Time-Warner, as well as three books, including her most recent, Mommy I’m Still In Here: One family’s journey with bipolar disorder.

In addition to writing her own blog, Kate regularly contributes to several on-line forums and e-zines, including Revolution Health, MomBloggers Club and NAMI’s ‘Caring and Sharing’. She is a member of the Child and Adolescent Bipolar Foundation, Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, the Juvenile Bipolar Research Foundation, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and Mental Health America; and she participates in several mental health speakers bureaus. Kate frequently presents to students, educators, parents, and mental health consumers.
