For as long as I can remember I always wanted to be a mom. However illness and a bad marriage kept me from having children in my late 20s/30s. For nearly 10 years one obstacle or another came before me and the reality of being a mom became ever more illusive. It wasn't until I was 45 years old that our dear Emily came into our lives. I remember the day well when I got the call from the head of the Foster Adopt program in Seattle...we have baby girl for you, 10 months old. Emily was our foster daughter for a year before she became legally free to adopt her. And then on nearly my 46 birthday I became a mom. My blog is about being a menopause mama--the challenges and joys of being an older mom, celebrating the twist and turns of life's journey, and going after your dreams.
