In a recent study conducted by ACT, just 45% of students that graduate from high school are prepared for college-level math courses. A number of researchers have also found that in families where numbers and math are discussed and used, the children have less math anxiety or…
The days of living our lives are marked by how well we live and the number of experiences we have collected through the life. A lot of time the experience counts more than the age. There are different milestone birthday’s in the life that makes us revisit life in a certain…
Share a little something about yourself with other moms.
I'm a first time mommy-to-be with a little boy, Ethan, due on July 7th. I live in (way too) sunny South Florida with my husband and our four cats. (I'm admittedly a huge crazy cat lady.) I plan on becoming a stay-at-home mommy but worked for a few years prior to my pregnancy at a large 24-hour emergency and specialty animal hospital. I have an AA degree in creative writing and then continued on to a local art school to study photography. I began dating my husband when we were 15 (me) and 16 (him) years old and we were married in May 2009. We're both super excited about meeting our little boy! My husband has Celiac disease which means I maintain a gluten-free household, but I still love cooking and baking so much -- even if it means altering recipes! I also love reading, watching movies, learning new things and spending time with my family who live less than 10 minutes from us.
What is your blogging philosophy?
I'm attracted to bloggers who are honest. Honesty isn't always pretty, eloquent or glamorous, but I admire people who aren't afraid to be real. I like to think that I also blog by these rules. I find it's so much easier to relate to bloggers when they're honest -- even if it's ugly, even if it hurts -- and that's what I like to keep in mind when blogging. I'm pregnant. Sometimes I pee in my pants when I sneeze. I can own up to it! :)
I have been blogging since...
I've been blogging privately on a personal LiveJournal since I was 13 years old (1999). I began my public blog in October of 2010 when I first found out I was expecting.

I'm fairly new to MBC myself and wanted to welcome you. I am a part-time family doctor and full-time mom of 4 boys. I have a parenting website. On the site I accept questions from parents about their kids' behavior and offer suggestions about difficult situations. I hope you will check it out, perhaps leave a question or recommend it to a friend who has a problem.
