- I am the mother of three (2 girls and a boy), and the grandmother of 4 wonderful grand kids. I am an Aussie transplant, and have lived in Oregon with my husband and family for many years.
I am a children's author. My 9th children's book is now published, and the 10th and 11th are due out soon. YEA!! I love writing in rhyme, because boys and reluctant readers are HOOKED easier by rhyming stories. My stint as a teacher's aid taught me this. Reading is a magic carpet ride to wonderful places, and kids who love reading have a distinct advantage in school and in life.
I also run a Manuscript Critique Service for aspiring writers, and my website is full of helpful writing advice. Being a Mom is one of the most important jobs a woman can have. Our children always need someone to love them, be there to pick up the pieces, and teach them that knowing the rules of "cause and effect" can make life much happier.
- What is your blogging philosophy?
- I love writing my books, and hope my blog and website help kids and parents find and enjoy reading them. My son was a reluctant reader, so I try to write books that will HOOK KIDS on READING.
I want my website and blogs to help parents and teachers find the right books for their classes, and their children. And hearing from a child reader, or that a writer I helped had their book published, is a huge thrill. It means all the time I spent writing the book or helping the client, was well worth it.
