By God when you see your beauty, you’ll be the idol of yourself.” —Rumi

I have been on a journey. I have been on a journey and I have been listening. I have been listening to the whispers of my soul beckoning me to stretch out, to reach out and to extend my hand. My path has been winding and magical, strenuous and lonely and protected and comfortable and wild. I am a mother. I am an artist. I am a seeker. Are you one—or all—of these? There are so many ways to live. Come and see what it means to slow down, to shed your tired skin, to make yourself free. Come and see what it means to enter into the spaces in-between, to linger in your environment—whatever it may be—to experience the expansiveness of time. There is space here for you to notice what matters to you. There is space here for you to reflect on the vision you have for your life. My journey has transformed me from someone who wanted to make art into someone who knows that art is the way. My journey has transformed me from someone who wanted to be a good mother into someone who knows that mothering is the way. My journey has transformed me from someone who was seeking truth into someone who knows that living truth is the way. I love that girl who wanted to make art and be a good mother and live in truth and I honor her journey. I honor your journey as well. Come, take my hand in yours. There is space here.
What is your blogging philosophy?
“Sometimes it may seem as if the pressures of living, of being, are too cumbersome. Our arms, our shoulders burdened beyond their means. Our mouths on fire with reproof of self and others, alike. Sometimes it may seem. And when it does, shake these sensations wildly from your skin like a hound in a wet rain. Shake these deceptions of the mind from your limbs, from your veins and step into the truth of your real capacity. Caress gently the delicate hand of your child and take them with you into the place where breathing is long and sumptuous where eyes meet in brightness, where space abounds for listening and communion and connection. Shake off any of the pain from yesterday, from yesteryear and know that today, this day—this moment even—you may begin again renewed.” —Meghan Nathanson

A Mother's Morning Meditation

Posted on February 23, 2016 at 8:30am 0 Comments

Good morning, dear Mothers. Today is a new day and all is well. All is well. As I enter this day, I center myself with a deep, stilling breath. And then another. I sit in the emptiness and experience myself, the light in me. I greet myself with a smile and acknowledge all that I am and all that I give. With eyes closed, I breath deeply again noticing the many spaces within my being. I notice the places that I experience as too-full. I notice the…

“Beautify your breath—beautify your life” —Amit Ray

It is the morning after my five day immersion in a barn-studio in rural Maine, learning more about yoga—about becoming a teacher of this ancient tradition. It is the morning after a soul’s journey into deeper noticing of the ways in which the mind works, of observing more closely the manners in which our bodies compensate when faced with the stretching and tugging of life’s mighty grip upon our spines, our limbs, our hearts. It is the morning after sitting in the company of a community of…
