Symptoms to Take Notice of in Children

The NHS has been facing ever-increasing pressures in recent years, with slashed budgets, staff shortages and lack of resources taking its toll on the quality of care. One of the many ways we commonly see the impact of these pressures is in waiting times for GP…

Mother of the Bride Guide

The day you’ve dreamed of for years has finally arrived! Your little girl is all grown up and has chosen a partner to start her life with, and you are officially a MoB -- Mother of the Bride! While congratulatory remarks are appropriate at this juncture, so are a few…

How to Through A Larger Than Life Small Wedding on a Budget

This one is as simple as crowdfunding your honeymoon. It might sound strange at first, but do you really need another blender or set of dinner plates? Instead of having your guests purchase a bunch of things you’ll end up trying to return anyway, why not let them chip in for…

I’m a thirty-something Mummy to one. I was diagnosed with Postnatal Depression when my little one was 18 months old.

I suffered alone with PND for far to long & by starting this Postnatal Depression Blog I hope those of you who find it seek help sooner than I did. There’s no need to suffer & there are many of us out there who’ve been on our own PND Journey.

My writing will often include being a FTM and the struggles of PND, the demands on mums to be perfect and have it all, unrealistic expectations and other mums judgements – as well as our own.

There is light in the dark.

Mummy it’s OK – You’re Doing Great!

Welcome to the Mummyitsok Blog

Being a Mum is hard work – there’s so much pressure to be the best and do everything perfect…..you must breastfeed, you must feed them organic magical unicorn fruit and don’t even think about a full time job!

I hope you enjoy the Mummyitsok Blog – I will be writing about the trails and tribulations of having a Baby/Toddler to care for. Mixed in with some funny anecdotes about parenting and being a mum

On this Blog you can also follow my journey with Postnatal Depression (PND) and my recovery. I will post about issues to do with Postnatal Mental Illnesses and where to find help.

Mummyitsok Postnatal Depression Journey

We’re here to tell you that whatever you choose to do ….Mummy It’s OK – You’re Doing Great.

There are many things you deal with as a parent that you never knew existed- and some of them you probably wish didn’t!

A classic – projectile vomit. Seriously though how do these kids do it? As adults this is a very difficult thing to do – but nope seems to come natural to a LO.

Your LO wakes in the night crying ‘mummy mummy’ – oh god awake again at some un-god forsaken hour – you grumble to yourself as you stroll down the landing in a huff – kids probably lost his sock…

What’s Happened To Kids TV?

Great I’ve got a Little One (LO), what a perfect excuse to watch cartoons as an adult!

Imagine my disappointment when I turned on the TV to find Postman Pat flying a helicopter.

Seriously though what has happened to kids TV –

Fireman Sam – Since When Did He…?

  • Skateboard
  • Snowboard
  • Have a Flying Drone…

We all wish we could be the Perfect Mum, but the reality is very different. Just ‘Good Enough’ is perfect enough.

The Dream –

Your Breastfeeding, making home-made meals, your house is spotless, you’ve lost all the baby weight, have a full face of make-up and a new hair-do. You’ve taken up a new hobby that’s always interested you and attend mummy meetings and baby groups.

Your new bundle of joy is wonderful he/she is a baby that sleeps all night and…
