"Blogging for me is mostly a hobby, but I would like it to generate some income in the future. Although, I don't expect to earn a full time income from blogging. I love to write and am thinking of it more as practice and experience."

Most people would consider me a quiet, introspective and thoughtful person. I grew up in a large family who would probably disagree about me being quiet. My name is Nannette Gilbert. I graduated from high school near Akron, Ohio and moved to Colorado in my early twenties. I currently live near the mountains in Castle Rock, Colorado. I enjoy hiking on the many trails in our area. Last summer my husband, son and I hiked to the top of our namesake, Castle Rock, overlooking our city.
When I'm not working, I am reading or writing or hanging out with my husband, children, and grandchildren. My daughter has to young daughters herself and is attending school at the University of Boulder. My youngest son lives with us and is homeschooled by me. My other son has recently moved home to attend college.
I would certainly be remiss if I don't mention Zoe; she is my two year old Yorkiepoo, a cross between a Toy Poodle and a Yorkshire Terrier. She is a loveable 7 pound bundle of curly black hair that takes up so much of my time; I should list her as a separate hobby.
We also have a cat named Princess of the Princess and the Pea variety, loveable in her own way when she's not climbing my clothing.
I recently finally graduated from Metropolitan State College in Denver with a B. A. in Behavioral Science with a history focus. Between raising three children and full-time work, it took me almost 25 years to graduate.
What is your blogging philosophy?
Blogging is fun, creative, informational, and inspirational. It is a mixture of the professional and the personal.

I'm fairly new to MBC myself and wanted to welcome you. I am a part-time family doctor and full-time mom of 4 boys. I have a parenting website. On the site I accept questions from parents about their kids' behavior and offer suggestions about difficult situations. I hope you will check it out, perhaps leave a question or recommend it to a friend who has a problem.
Welcome to Mom Blogger's Club! I hope you enjoy your time here and find it helpful! I know it can be overwhelming at first but I promise, you'll be a pro on here in no time! I write a blog called The Adventures of J-Man and MillerBug. It's a blog about my life with my two boys and I do some pretty cool giveaways (OK, I think they're cool! Do you?)
Every weekend I host the Finding New Friends Weekend Blog Hop. It's a great way to find new followers and friends as well as get to know more of your fellow mom bloggers. If you're not familiar with a blog hop, all you have to do is add your blog to the list. Participants then "hop" from blog to blog to find great new blogs! It's a ton of fun! I'd love to have you join us. It's going on now so come on over and link up! You can find it here: http://myadventureinmommyhood.blogspot.com/2011/07/finding-new-friends-weekend-blog-hop.html#more.
