My kids are picky eaters. I can find something I think they like. After serving it once a week for two weeks the kids tell me, "
Why are you fixing this dish all the time? We don't like this anymore." Finding something to pack in their lunches over the years has been a challenge. I wanted to encourage healthy food that didn't end up in the trash. I tried adding notes, making special dishes, and making fun food. The other kids were impressed with their lunches. My kids were able to trade for a supply of sweet treats and other goodies. Not exactly what I had in mind.
I've discovered the kids will eat much better (even now!) if their food is "snack sized." Being able to pick up a few bites at a time encourages them to eat healthier food.
Fun Bites are cute new food cutters recommended for children ages three to ten. I can use them on fruits, cheese, sandwiches, pancakes, and more. I've discovered having fruit in fun shapes is a lot more fun than eating plain fruit.
Funbites consist of two pieces. One is the cutter that is placed on the food. By rocking it back and forth a few times it will cut the food. (Tip: Be sure to use a flat surface.) Then use the matching popper to pop up the food. We don't have to touch the food. My germaphobic son thinks this is the best idea ever! I like being able to make a variety of simple, healthy foods the kids will eat in minutes.
If you know anything about me you know I am a firm believer in using the dishwasher whenever I can. These are top drawer dishwasher safe so not only do my hands stay clean during use they stay clean when I'm washing them too!

I have always been careful about protecting my face. I would never consider walking out the door without applying a moisturizer with sunblock. Unfortunately over the years I have been more cavalier with other parts of my body. During the winter months this year I noticed my arms and legs appear to be dry. Upon closer inspection they seemed to be sporting the "lizard" look--dry, scaly skin, though, thankfully, not green. I made a mental note to begin moisturizing my legs and promptly forgot about it.
Then I read an article in a popular magazine informing me people could almost always correctly guess a woman's age by looking at her hands. Um, oh no, they couldn't. I didn't spend my entire life since my teenage years protecting my face so someone could guess my age by looking at my hands. I promptly began a new skincare routine for the rest of my body.
I began using
Bioken Pequi Body Lotion twice a day. I had never heard of Pequi, a small orange fruit that grows in Brazil and contains Provitamin A. This fruit is gaining renown for its repairing and and protective benefits. I was ready for anything that would
replenish natural moisturizing factors, repair dry skin, and prevent future dryness.

The Bioken Pequi Lotion left my skin feeling smooth after application. I would suggest starting with a very small amount because I accidentally used to much during the first few times I tried it. It smells great with a fruity smell I couldn't quiet identify. I noticed that my skin continued to feel hydrated for several hours after use too. I could run my hand over my arm or my leg and not feel dry skin.
I was happy to be using an all natural product that didn't contain harsh chemicals too. Because I am a high cancer risk I have been trying to reduce our chemical usage. I didn't realize how many were contained in skincare products until recently.
Bioken Pequi products are available in lotion, body wash, and body oil spray. You can learn more about their philosophies and ingredients by checking out their
website.

Some of you might remember my giveaway for Swiss Colony Snowman Truffles during December. Those truffles ensured my kids were Swiss Colony fans. They browsed through the website telling me all the foods they wanted to try. My son asked if I would order him a Sausage and Cheese Bar sampler for his birthday while my daughter was partial to more truffles.
My children, as we arrived home from an outing, saw a package on our porch. I wasn't remotely surprised when I saw my son dashing through the house, clutching the package tightly to his chest with my daughter chasing him and yelling, "
Bring that back! Bring that back!"
I knew our package of
Ice Cream Cake Balls had arrived.
These are a decadent blend of Cookies and Cream, Cake Batter and Brownie Chunk flavors surrounded vanilla creme and fudge centers. Since my husband has a chocolate allergy (worst allergy ever!), he was the first to try the Cake Batter Ice Cream Balls. They tasted like little cheesecake bites, filled with a creamy vanilla center, and covered with a smooth icing. He exclaimed how good they were and grabbed a couple more. My daughter preferred the Brownie Chunk with its rich dark chocolate centers. For those of us who prefer milk chocolate, the Cookies and Cream were a hit.
Everything we've tried from Swiss Colony has been yummy and disappears way to fast. Next up on my list to try, the award winning Milk Chocolate Covered Butter Toffee. This may be hidden in my secret mom stash!
Win It!Swiss Colony and Collective Media Magic have teamed up to bring you an awesome giveaway.
