Helicopter Parent or Slacker Mom? How to walk away from the heli-pad!

As soon as we take on the task of minding children whether we birth them or simply become their caregivers you will always have an involuntary knee jerk reaction of trying to catch them during a fall. When they are really little you will actually dive for them but when you are sitting across a table from a 6 foot + 21 yo who has just suffered his first heartbreak you will feel that same gut wrenching twist and you will wish that you really could make it better with a Ninja Turtle Band-Aid and a…See More

Dvora Koelling commented on Sydney Proctor's blog post 'The Myth of "FREE TIME"'
"Thanks for the warning ;) - with a 21 month old in daycare, and another little one on the way, and working a full time job, I'm pretty sure I should just throw that whole search for "free time" out the window. As a mama, there is…"

Sydney Proctor commented on Christine Shuy's blog post 'Becoming Full Time Housewife/Mother: The Transition'
"So 20 years + of raising kids, knowing many moms, being a working single mom and a married SAHM I can offer you a little advice. The transition is a process, stepping out of the workplace is the first step but not the hardest. I remember thinking…"

Sydney Proctor commented on Dvora Koelling's blog post 'Increasing My Odds...'
"The good news is that  breast reconstruction has come a loooong way from the archaic masectomies of yesteryear. Better news is that men like boobs, all boobs, fake, real, saggy, scarred etc. Adios to the old boobs and hello to the new ones and…"

Diane Reiter commented on Sydney Proctor's blog post 'No Children Allowed, AKA THE BRAT BAN?!'
"I agree that kids need to learn to behave in public places and the only way to do it is to practice. When our kids were small, we had friends that said they NEVER went out to eat or shopping with their kids because they were so disruptive. We took…"

Finding the "me" in "mom" and shedding some pounds along the way!

Posted on July 20, 2012 at 9:00am 0 Comments

So this mom thing offers up plenty of excuses to not take care of yourself? My kids need me, what if something happens? I can worry myself right on into a bag of HoHo's and blow off the gym. Truly a double whammy, if ever! Everyone has talked about putting yourself…

The new "Mommy Wars" Slacker mom vs. Alpha mom

Posted on July 19, 2012 at 9:00am 0 Comments

Mommy wars were originally the stomping ground of the working in the home mom versus the working out of the home mom. Now most people understand no matter how you slice it, it's ALL WORK! Why bother fighting over who does what best. In my world it goes something like this, I'll make the cupcakes(disclaimer below) and you do the spread sheet. Before Excel, carpools went something like this, hey if you drive Monday, I'll drive Thursday? I can read a spreadsheet, just don't ask me to write it…

No Children Allowed, AKA THE BRAT BAN?!

Posted on July 18, 2012 at 10:00pm 1 Comment

I'm so rarely ahead of the curve however just last week some 28 yo friend of my youngest sister was hollering at me on Facebook about "my alleged parental indignation" over not being ALLOWED to take my kids to see a Harry Potter movie, at ten in the morning on a summer's day. My sister had gone to a movie theatre that had a bar and reserved seating and was gushing about drinking cocktails at ten am while watching Harry Potter with nary a kid in sight. Her friend chirped in, "I hate kids and…

Greetings from the Tampa Bay :) My name is Lea, and I am the author of Mother Baby Child - http://motherbabychild.blogspot.com. I started this blog to share my experience in having a baby just before my 1st son was about to turn 18 years old, as well as what life is like as a married mom after being single for so many years. I also blog about Christianity, baby and child stages, homeschooling, ADHD, Autism, Blog Marketing, etc. I share a lot on that blog during the non-summer seasons.

I also have a new healthy lifestyle choices and weight loss blog - http://burnfatloseweightgetskinnyfeelgreat.blogspot.com - to accompany my Skinny Body business. I am working hard to complete the design of this new blog, so that I can provide valuable health lifestyle and weight loss information, as well as to share a solid opportunity for moms that want / need to make money by working at home.

I invite you to explore my blogs and provide your feedback.

I have GFC and my network links on both of them.

Now that my baby is older, I have more time to meet the moms. I am really excited about this!

I look forward to reading your blog and networking with you here at MBC :)

Hugs & Blessings!
