I am a SAHM to 2 young children, ages 4 and 2. I have struggled with the idea of staying home with them, and putting myself on complete hold. After some soul-searching and months of therapy, I realized I need to have a voice and be in control of my own fate. I am passionate about yoga, not just as a form of exercise, but as a lifestyle. I have worked with children, teaching yoga, and have a lot of knowledge about diet and nutrition. I started this blog as a way to share my knowledge of wellness topics with other Moms, without having to leave the house to teach a class or sell a product. I love blogging and I hope to meet others who are passionate about a topic and want to succeed in writing.

Hmm....around 1000 is fine. I'm not too strict about the length of the article. As a general rule I don't want less than 300-500 depending on what kind of article it is. Try to make sure the article has a slant for writers. How about being an ambassador for your cause through writing? That seems like it would be right up your alley.
HAHA, I see you posted a comment for me on your own page by mistake. I accept articles on an ongoing basis, so there's no real time frame. But I would like articles within 2 weeks generally. If it takes longer that's okay too. I would rather you didn't rush it. After I look it over I'll edit it and if I would like you to re work it a bit I'll let you know, then after the 2nd round of edits it will be posted and you'll have a shiny new clip to add to your collection!

I love your blog! I can relate to those feelings of depression. I suffered from depression off & on all through school and it got really bad while I was pregnant with my son and considered suicide. Thankfully I didn't and once my son was born it pretty much all went away. I'm so happy that you got help, so many women don't and suffer all by themselves. Anywho.....Balancing Act is a web zine for women writers, by women writers. So if you had any ideas that would be of interest to women in the freelancing/publishing profession I would love to put your content up. I know your usual topics have to do with yoga & wellness.....but maybe you could connect the 2 somehow? You can talk about turning your interests into a writing career??
