Why I Won't Be Calling Dibs On The Bath Tub, Anytime Soon!

One of the many things I miss (sort of) from when our kids were littler (i.e. being able to shop for 3 girls and 1 boy, at the same time AND at the same store) is bath time and the kids loved bath time, too! Except for our youngest, Hope -- she hated taking showers, even more! The girl hated, Hated, HAted, HATed, HATEd, I mean absolutely HATED taking showers! She even faked taking a shower with a container of baby powder (aftermath pictured above), because her middle sister insisted that their father and I would NEVER...EVER...know the difference and,...

Teenagers, You Goth To Love Them!

One of the BIGGEST fallacies you'll ever hear about parenting teenagers...IMHO, as a parent of teens, four times over, maneuvering through waves of hormonal and emotional angst for the last 9 years...both theirs AND the popular belief that parents of teens are entirely responsible for their children’s behavior. That is SO not true! I am mostly responsible for my teens behavior, but not entirely. Like adults, teenagers have their own agenda and many times (okay, mostly) it involves doing exactly the OPPOSITE of what their parents would do in almost any given situation and, well, it's a part of...

Toiletexting: It's A Real Problem - At Our House, Anyways!

I started blogging in 2003 (with 4 kids home all under the age of 10) and I remember how most of my mom and dad friends (at the time) thought I was soooooooo crazy, because who has the time...really?!? Photo of my Mom with her grandrugrats, taken circa 2003 B.P. (before picmonkey) They were right, of course! Those were some crazy-busy daze, my friends! On the other hand, blogging was (and still is) cheaper than therapy. And then Facebook happened (i.e. one of the top ten BIGGEST time sucks in internet history) and now we can ALL meet up for...

Wordless Wednesday: Unfrozen

Take a real close look and you'll see: there's a bird up there on top of our chimney, getting a steam bath and a facial, I don't blame him/her. Linky Love Bytes: Wordless Wednesday HQ

There's a Reason Why They Don't Call It Womenpause

Menopause. It's such an unattractive word. Let's be honest. What was the FIRST thing that came to mind when reading the flashes...mood swings...old lady disease, maybe? No one really likes to talk about...ahem...she who shall not be named...and I don't blame anyone visiting with us right now...especially, for the first time...for wanting to click away, at this very moment. Because ain't nobody got no time to just sit around and think about how bad they feel about stuff...especially women...let alone, blog about it. On the other hand: I've just entered my 12th year of blogging, so my kids are...

Look, it's no secret, I like getting stuff -- says so, right on my review blog -- but, what I especially like about blogging is finding out about stuff (whatever it is, I need, at the moment) connecting with others (like me) and then being able to share all the good stuff...with you guys ...FAST!

Yeah, sometimes I get invited to really cool events (seriously, even my real life friends were more than a little surprised to see pictures of Hollywood) but, I've been doing this… Continue

Hi Elizabeth - I don't even have a clue how I found your blog, especially since I don't read a whole lot of blogs, but I just wanted to thank you for the helpfullness you offer on your blog for those of us who are blogging newbies. And this is the only network site that you and I both share (man, I'm going to check out some of those networking sites on your blog) so I thought I'd let you know I appreciate you, even though I don't know you.

Hi Liz,
Thanks for your interest in Kid Blogging. My 2 younger boys ages 7 & 10 started blogs a while back and lost interest. I was hoping to get them started back for the summer. I had been a lone member for awhile and forgot about this group I tried to start. I'd love your help!
I'll check in tonight when I'm at home and take a look at your project.
I am hoping we can create a safe group for our children to hone their writing ( and spelling ) skills.
