Symptoms to Take Notice of in Children

The NHS has been facing ever-increasing pressures in recent years, with slashed budgets, staff shortages and lack of resources taking its toll on the quality of care. One of the many ways we commonly see the impact of these pressures is in waiting times for GP…

How to Through A Larger Than Life Small Wedding on a Budget

This one is as simple as crowdfunding your honeymoon. It might sound strange at first, but do you really need another blender or set of dinner plates? Instead of having your guests purchase a bunch of things you’ll end up trying to return anyway, why not let them chip in for…

Respecting Those in Authority- a Call Out to Mothers

Posted on September 11, 2009 at 3:32pm 0 Comments

Moms tend to set the moral barometer in the home, teaching children about table manners, acceptable social skills and the need to respect adults and those in authority. We navigate the sassy years, the rebellious years, and the defiant years believing that with any luck, the values we’ve instilled in our offspring will take root and bear fruit. That they will learn to engage in lively discussions without becoming boorish, that they will listen respectfully to teachers, professors and eventually… Continue

The Wonder Years

Sometimes I wonder why I waited so long to have babies. Oh I know the official reasons: didn’t meet my husband until 30; wanted to travel, pursue my career; ambivalent maternal instincts. But never mind all that. What was I thinking?

I ran into a friend from MOPS the other day. I struggled to recall her name even though she was someone from my second go ‘round with Mothers of Preschoolers. Not that long ago really since my daughter is only six. Still, it seems like a lifetime has… Continue

Hi there from The Girlz Korner in upstate New York where you'll find light, witty and rather entertaining articles on every topic imaginable from The Little Black Dress to Making Whoopie. So if you get a chance to kick back and exhale, if only for a brief moment ... come on over and see me some time. I just love this site. The women are so embracing and I hope you are enjoying your experience as much as I.

Hi trudie, there's a lady at my work who is going through divorce and is 43 at this time. She is very pretty and has a 2, 12 and 16 yr old kids. She is basically on the look out for cute guys. But all the guys she likes are younger than her. My other co worker calls her a cougar. We all laugh but I think she's beginning to get annoyed by her comments. She has not said anything yet but I think my other friend should stop saying that. Anyway, I don't think she knows what she wants at this time.
