My husband is about the nicest person in the world. If you want a problem solved, he can figure out the solution. If you're in need of an encouraging word, he knows the right thing to say. In fact, he'd probably give you the shirt off his back, he's just that sweet.
Except in the morning. That is the time you see the dark side of the man I married - a guy I call the the doomsayer of dawn.
"I just don't remember winters being this bad before," he'll mutter as he gets dressed.…Continue

Today is Day 1 of P90X. I got my resistance bands ready to go this time so will be doing this work out withe the bands and NOT with the pull up bar. “Wait a minute!” you may be thinking. Childbirth is scary with lots of drama and pain! How could it possibly be “smart” and “sexy”? That’s just crazy, right?
Wrong. Let’s look at some facts about a woman’s body that enables her and for most women, to have a baby in the first place.
After a woman conceives through the old fashioned way (sex) or by Invetro fertilization (IVF), the embryo implants on the uterine wall and begins to grow. It is totally in the…Continue

Since having kids, I have developed a very serious hobby taking and editing photos. I started using all automatic settings and only cropping and using red-eye reduction to now using only manual settings (with all their mistakes and mishaps) and obsessively editing on Lightroom. I also love to go online and read photography…

People say that I’m brave for having six kids. My take is that it’s nothing compared to those crazy mamas whose kids are out of the baby stage when they go and immerse themselves right back into it. Imagine ditching diaper bags, sleepless nights and poopy bottoms only to return to them several years later. At…Continue

My family was in for a major shock when we moved away from 16 years of living in the sunny Southwest to the Midwest with its grey winters. People were warning us that winters would be hard. Yeah, right. I was born in Montreal, I remember winters. Pfffft.
As we were visiting Chicago area homes in planning for our move, we scoffed at the particular homeowners that featured a closet with a standing tanning booth in it. “You’ll need this in the winter” they said. Yeah, right.…Continue

If I am to be honest, Valentine’s Day is a far bigger deal for my daughters than it is for my husband and me. It seems that the school enjoys promoting this should-be celebration of undying love between two lovers as a vehicle to express friendship between classmates. Although we do not officially celebrate Valentine’s…
