Dirty Little Secrets

Yesterday I heard comedian and writer Marc Maron tell “Fresh Air” host Terry Gross that he had waded out of his dysfunctional upbringing, deep into middle age, only to discover that he’d like to offer his much younger girlfriend the gift of a child.

“Don’t do it!” I found myself screaming at the radio. “You’ll be cleaning fecal matter out from under your fingernails for the next seven years!”

I’m not even talking about diapers, which are revolting enough. But new parents are so…

Because Sometimes I Pretend Darya Is Still In My Belly

So Dear Darya.

You would notice I hardly blog or reply the comments when I am at home unless my little miss decides to tuck in early. But sometimes I get so tired that I would rather catch up on my sleep please. Heh heh *sway left to right and face plant on the keyboard, spilling the coffee all over*

Arbonne Seven Day Cleanse: Days Four, Five and Six

It’s official: I have ONE day left on my cleanse. Five things I’ve learned:

1. Seven days on a toxin cleanse is not as hard as it sounds. I thought I was going to be really pushing for this to be over by this point. In reality, I will probably do this cleanse every couple of months – my body is really feeling great!

2. Drinking lots of water is a really good thing...Continue reading at …

The Fast Metabolism Diet Experience

Day 1 (April 29, 2013): I started the morning excited. I made my strawberry smoothie, following the recipe to the 'T', but after the blender stopped blending and the time came for me to put my smoothie into a cup, I realized the size of my drink was a lot smaller than what I was expecting. Goodness, so the drinks sold at restaurants must be 4 servings in one.…

Sleep Regression

Ugh.  Seriously kid?  Seriously?  Every 2.5 hours?  The Squeaks has regressed.  For the last week he has been a pretty terrible sleeper.  He wakes up every 2-3 hours looking for food.  I’m pretty sure we were spoiled rotten by his 6-hour stretches.  One bottle in the middle of the night was so very doable.  This, however, is ridiculous.  Dad and I are so bleary eyed.  It has been hard for me to even think about writing this blog because I worry that I cannot string a group of words…

Use Technology to Keep Healthy

It is terrific to use technology to get back to basics and stay healthy. Modern technology has taken a lot of the drudgery out of getting into and staying healthy. When I was a very young teenager, I bought Jane Fonda's step aerobics workout book. I worked my way through the book page after page and used another book to hold the pages while I did the exercises. When I was a child, personal computers were out of the price range of most people and the idea of using the computer to research…
