Renaissance Culinaire Finalist in BOBs Award top 10!! Please Vote...

Hi everyone, I was nominated for a "BestofBlogs" Award in April and I just got word that my blog Renaissance Culinaire has been chosen as a top 10 finalist.

This is a really big deal for me - I just found out today. Usually the biggest names in the blogosphere are the only blogs you see as the top ten finalists for each category - but this year I was initially nominated and accepted for a special "under appreciated blog" category for smaller blogs. I made a long list of… Continue

To Teach is to Inspire

Throughout our lives there are many people that will greatly impact our lives but it is the great teachers that you will remember for the rest of your lives. It is funny how you never forget their names and they don't even know how much they made an impact on your life. I have always thought that teachers have a thankless job and they surely aren't paid enough.

I created the "Inspire" necklace since I believe a teacher inspires you to… Continue

  • Get down to their level so you can see their face. Zoom in so you can focus on the…

::You Chew My Gum::

*Stick with me this gets funny I mean really really funny.*

At one point, I was worried that this little girl would never talk but now I am worried that her mouth will permanently stay in a "O" shape.

Ill just say it the kid never shuts up. If she has nothing of importance to say she will just start to describe everything around her even the ladies legs who is in the bathroom stall next to her. She is going to be a blogger I know it she

has a thing for…

Moving is never easy

Yesterday was a very exhausting day of my life as well as my husband's. I just got the key to our very first house on Monday and wasn't supposed to start moving our staff till this weekend but my husband lost his voice due to laryngitis and so he called in sick from work. My usual routine at home got messed up not because he's around but because he insists on moving some of our clatter and small boxes to the new house which is by the way just 2 miles from where we live right now. So we started… Continue

Where am I now?

For today’s Wordless Wednesday Walkers, I’d like to share a few pictures from my virtual Walk across the USA.

Over the last three weeks, and using my Walker Tracker steps as a guideline, I’ve walked about 100 miles. Small steps do indeed lead to larger strides. I never imagined that I walked this far. From…

re arranging

I decided to re- arrange my house( living room and office, and baby swigns etc.) This was in the middle of me taking care of my 4 mo. old who got her shots today. Last time at 2months I only had them give her 3 and did the other 2 in month 3. I noticed last time she felt fine, no crankiness and no fever. this time i have a CRANKY baby and a fever. Best to stick to my insticts that 5 shots is too many.

So now my house is in temp state bc the items I've moved are halfway put up and some… Continue

Paying it Forward

If you watch the news (which I don’t – too depressing!), you’ve probably heard that the country going through a crisis, that people are losing their houses, that a lot of people are suffering. Maybe you are one of them, or maybe you’re just scared of becoming one of them. But whatever your situation, I want to remind you not to lose your spirit. Not to become bitter. Remaining open to other people and sharing what you have – even if it isn’t much – is hugely rewarding. No matter how bad things… Continue

Simplify...

Every day, we’re bombarded with messages to buy more, spend more, have more if we want our lives to be worth living. Let’s face it, today more IS more, and it seems like everyone we know is after a better car, a bigger house and more “bling.” But paring the stuff down to a minimum and living a simpler, less materialistic life has amazing rewards.

Think about it. Do you really need to be driving a more expensive car, or to live in a bigger house, or to have the latest grown-up toys… Continue

Enjoy the moment...

We all know life can get pretty crazy sometimes. Everybody seems to be working harder and making less money and complaining more and enjoying life less – at least if you watch the news! For me, one thing that helps is taking time every day to enjoy simple luxuries. And no, I’m not talking about stuff that costs a lot of money or takes up a lot of time. I’m talking about simple pleasures anyone can enjoy if they just take a moment to remember and do it.

Here’s one that works for me.… Continue

Living Our Dreams

Living Our Dreams

Every one of us has a dream. Maybe it’s to quit our office job and start a business. Maybe it’s to leave the rat race entirely and travel around the world. Whatever they might be, those dreams are there. But how many of us actually take the chances necessary to live our dreams? Believe it or not, I am living mine. And I’m here to tell you how I did it.

For me, the biggest step was letting go of expectations and learning to go with the flow. You can’t MAKE… Continue

Latest Post : On Mothers

"....It is funny I can look at them both and see them just as they were in the hospital - cradled in my arms for the first time. Their eyes squinting and unadjusted to the light all around them - unaware and scared of the world they had entered into. So tiny and red. Wrinkled and scented with what seemed the essence of purity itself...."

Focus

Today I participated in a focus group for a demographic of women of kids under age 2. The focus was on what info is out there about immunizations. The CDC was hiring us to give them feedback about the American Health and Human Services ad's as well as feedback of what we already now. Questions like what do you refer to these as? and are you familiar with the CDC? and do you know the term up-to date? were asked. I gained some useful info about shots that I didn't previously know. Like whats in… Continue
