Motherhood in Overdrive Part Deux

Continuation from yesterday's posting (see post immediately below this one): And Now . . . The Rest of the Story (RIP, Mr. Harvey)

I left the computer for (what was intended to be) a brief moment of comforting one of the twins while he was paying homage to the Great White Porcelin God. However, in the midst of rubbing his back and wiping his face as he hurled projectile masses of unknown constituents into the depths of clear blue waters, the phone rang. I let it go to voicemail,… Continue

Motherhood in Overdrive

Have you ever tried getting work done when you feel like death? Do you fall behind on daily tasks when you're so sick that you just want to lie still, close your eyes, shut out the world and finally give your body the rest it needs to recouperate, but can't? If you're a mother, you know all too well what I'm talking about. Why is it that we, mothers, must carry on despite the fact that we feel like warmed over road kill?

What inspired this post? Yep, you guess it! I'm freakin' sick… Continue

Ready, Set, Pee!

Being penis challenged, I have absolutely no idea why it seems near impossible for little boys to pee only in the toilet. One would think that the target is big enough. Most toilet seats are about 1.5 feet long, and about 6 inches wide; plenty of room to adequately catch a stream of kiddie pee, right? WRONG. I find pee all over the bathroom. It’s on the floor, sprinkled on the bathtub, and don’t even get me started on the collection of pee I ALWAYS find in puddles at the base of the toilet. It… Continue

Stealing from Blogs Versus Borrowing

The other day, a friend of mine found out that someone she had done a blog makeover for went and used her code to make over someone else's blog. My friend found out when she checked in on the site she had done only to see "I just did this makeover" posted. She emailed the person and contacted the blog owner and was eventually compensated.

Once I was dropping entrecards and I noticed that one blogger had a post divulging someones contact information. The reason? He had been stealing… Continue

Updating Way Late

I suck at keeping this blog updated, hu? Lo siento.
Also, if I don't respond to your comment or posts to my profile, it's because I never get notification of them. I'm begging for forgiveness here, mkay? You can always chew my butt out at momtomartians@gmail.com. I can take it.

So we're gearing up for the summer and will be kicking off our Heritage Camps with Vietnam Camp. Registration for camp ends tomorrow, but we already have over 100 children and families signed up! Find us on Facebook (search for Dillon Adopt) to see pictures of our recent Eastern European Camp. I'll have Vietnam Camp pics up by late June!

my body aches for all the wrong reasons

My baby isn't a baby anymore.

That teeny tiny body is growing fast.

I decided to take her out of a walk but wondered if I should carry her in the stroller or strap her to me in the baby carrier. She likes to be up high and I thought she would enjoy taking in the scenery from my height so I strapped her to me in the carrier. Big mistake.

I walked up the hill and immediately my back began to hurt. She was loving her walk and I was regretting it.

We walked for 15 minutes or so… Continue

I stole this story from my sister.. it is hilarious

"Yesterday the two big boys were playing upstairs when I heard C- give a blood curdling scream, followed by M- tearing downstairs to tell me "C- told me too!" and C- showing up to scream "I DID NOT!"
M- "Oh yes he did. He said bite my butt"

New to the Mommy Blog World

I almost feel like I walked into a freshly carpeted place... still even has the new smell. That is my thoughts about treading into the Mommy blogger world. I have not many connections in the IRL / offline world because most of my friends are either just getting married or do not plan to have children for years. The rest, well..... not sure, I end up being the person they come to about advice, like I am some professional! Sorry, but that is far from the truth.

I actually grew up… Continue

Retrospect (April 24, 2006)

Another Retrospect, you say? Well, I could tell you that I've been nursing a cold cup of coffee for the past hour listening to the umpteenth day of rain, but it's not so interesting.

so yep. I give you Monday, April 24, 2006

Ministry: Online

I have been trying for several months to try and create a ministry right here on my blog. I have been mentored by a fellow blogger friend, encouraged by readers and their comments, and humbled by emails of gratitude.

Yet, I still feel so lost at times, not knowing which is the best approach and how to maximize the small window of time I have to minister to other. Even so, everything I write here, I write to myself first and foremost. Many of the challenges I put out are for me first,… Continue
