I don't think I've ever met a bread I didn't just love. Italian, rye, wheat, multigrain, pumpernickel, focaccia, olive oil, sweet breads, quick breads, you name it, I love it. In our area, there are a number of super… Continue

I can't help myself

We go on a date every week to reestablish our connection to each

other. This is necessary both for our sanity and my whininess.

I am still giddy about my husband and being in his presence, despite the fact that we are, you know, MARRIED.

Sometimes in these moments I am so consumed with the love I have for my husband I don’t know what to do with myself. I am what one would

accurately describe as a “goober.” I find my desires stuck… Continue

My Non-Zumbaness

I finally got back into my Zumba class after dropping out for like a month. I stopped going right after my body sculpting class ended and Miss Snarky made her "comments" (since we usually go together). She kept going – I did not. Granted not all missed classes were on purpose – I do have a life with 2 + 3 kids, a husband, a grill, 2 dogs, a cat, a bird, and like 5 or 6 fish, 2 baby momma’s (yes, they rank below the fish) – not to mention a job.

What Every Pregnant Mom Needs to Know About Shoulder Dystocia

Although most pregnant women anticipate a normal, uncomplicated delivery, there are exceptions to the rules. A shoulder dystocia is one of the more frequent complications in the delivery room and unfortunately there is no sure-fire way to predict it.

A shoulder dystocia means that extra maneuvers must be done to deliver the baby’s shoulders. If not managed properly, the baby could sustain permanent injuries to its neck and arms. The most… Continue

Book Signing - May 8 1pm-3pm

This month my first two literary children are going to be born. Though I often joke around about giving birth to twins, the two couldn’t be any more different in nature. The first one, Housekeeping for the Soul, a nonfiction guide to self-renewal, is written in the same voice as my blog posts, while the second one, The Book of Obeah, is a novel of paranormal suspense.

Since many of you have been following this journey from the start and have asked to be notified when the ‘big day’… Continue
