My Baby Will Be In High School!!!

Does that look like the face of a High Schooler??? NO! Of course it doesn't. He's not OLD enough to be in high school! He's just 1, damn it! He's my baby! How can he be going into HIGH school?? I'm not old enough to have 2 teen agers in high school. And yet, here I am... Barely in my 30's (by barely I mean pushing… Continue

Are You Ready for Emergencies?

Preparing for the unthinkable isn’t something most people think about. After all, bad things only happen to other people – right?

Wouldn’t it be great to receive a cautionary note the day before a crisis occurred?

Unfortunately, tragedies don’t understand the rules of fair play.

While we can’t control Mother Nature, Acts of God, or…

A moment of peace, no , not really..

The girls were sitting quietly doing art work as usual and I was happy the boys were playing nicely with our new wagon..Aidan was losing his battle with me to take a shower and was heading upstairs.......

...........wow its peaceful all of a sudden as I thought to myself sitting on the deck

..................then........bamm.........

Ronan fell off the wagon and smashed his head, going face down off the new deck. As he fell I new it was going to be bad, I…

Home Security

I have always been worried about home security, not so much when I’m not at home, but more when we are all home and it is the dead of night. I worry about burglars, bad guys and meth heads breaking into our

house. We have an alarm system that

religiously gets set every night before we go to bed…and we have a dog…a dog

that has a strong heritage of German watch dog in him.

Our biggest delivery of the Year

Just thought you might like a little look inside to what it's like living on a working dairy farm.....

As I was headed down our driveway the other day, just before cresting the hill to drive down the hill, I see a very large load traveling up in the opposite direction. I stop to wait (it's a one lane drive). The silage trucks are coming. This means silage delivery will begin the next morning. Approximately 1600 TONS of silage to be exact. It will take about 2 1/2 days or so for the… Continue

How to Know You're a Mom...

You're well aware of the

phenomenon of the unmatched socks
, but upon searching for matches

to various flip-flops and sandals in your three year old's closet,

you've come to realize that this is also applicable to shoes.

You liken white pants on toddlers to unicorns. They're pretty but you

don't believe in them.

You've learned to dress your kids in dark clothes… Continue

No one watches!

I have been throwing around the idea of turning off our cable. Just because we really don't need it! When the girls watch TV they always want to watch a video that they have. I would say 99% of TV that they watch is a VHS…

I know this is not Aidan's experience BUT...

Alright so I know that this is not something Aidan would talk about, but sometimes mommies do have something to say too!

There is something out there that just gets my goat, is the whole new LOL! craze, what the hell is this all about, I just don't get it... I know that it stands for Laugh Out Loud, but what ever happened to actually physically laughing, i Love to laugh and just doing this LOL thing doesn't give the same feel good feeling as a good old hearty laugh does!
