Well here I am toasting the success of my recycling pledge! (clink!)
I did it!
I reused all my bags and I can say it was a great challenge to do, it really made me think about all the bags I use normally. From food shopping to buying birthday presents for the girls to buying things for myself i think i probably saved myself from accumulating about 30plastic bags this week! Imagine if i stuck to this pledge and saved myself the same amount every week… Continue

My husband has dry skin. Like…really dry. And he’s constantly going through every lotion bottle I buy, want me to scratch him (*ew*) and just doesn’t seem to get any kind of relief. So when Skin Free
contacted me about their products, I jumped on the opportunity. Finally, something that might cure my hubby of his (in my opinion, annoyingly) dry skin and super dry (yet disgusting) feet.

The News Frenzy Begins
On June 25, 2009 while having dinner during my vacation in Sanibel Island, Florida, I read on Facebook from my phone that Michael Jackson had died. Since FaceBook is not exactly a newsworthy source, I thought it was a joke and had to ask our waiter if it was true. Go figure, it was true because CNN was breaking the story on one of the TVs in the bar. I quickly turned to Twitter (from my phone) to see what people were tweeting about, and sure enough fail whale after… Continue

It's hard to know just what to expect from a "Lake Michigan Shore Wine Festival." One of the ladies on our tour bus summed it up by saying, "...accent on Fest." I imagined the images below, only graced also with colorful tents on the beach sheltering tables and chairs, the tablecloths lifting and wafting in the soft lake breeze. I imagined baskets of wine plunked in the sand in shady nooks, waiting to join their fellows sitting opened and chilling in big silver ice buckets. And I imagined happy… Continue

I wanted to talk today about a situation that I’m losing sleep over. My friend invented a slipper called Spare Soles four years ago. She has been on TV and in magazines all over the country. Expecting it to be a long tough journey the slipper did the opposite and exploded into the fashion world.
I’m posting about this because Andrea is a fellow mommy. She started this business with a baby, then became pregnant again and is continuing to run the company with two very active… Continue

Yes, you heard it right! Baby #3 is expected in our house the end of January! Those adorable pics of a strange form prove that we could have an addition! I couldn’t be more excited or scared. Two under 2 is fantastic but so tiring – I can only imagine what 3 will be like. Crazy times are coming to my house. My husband would claim that I am already crazy and this will just make it crazier. While I used to act shocked, he is right. I have always been sorta wacky and now my whole life and house… Continue

The Cupcake Wars: As Seen in the NY Times (Plus More!)
Last week, there was an article in the NY Times about Meme Roth and her fight with her children’s school concerning school birthday parties and cupcakes.
What sets her off is the junk food served on special occasions: the cupcakes that come out for every birthday, the doughnuts her children were once given in gym, the sugary “Fun-Dip” packets that some parent provided the whole class on Valentine’s Day.
“I thought… Continue

Today's post is about my family. As you can see from the picture above, we are working together to improve our health. Not only does it help us physically but brings us closer as a family. As my children grow older, their dependence on me will lessen. I can only hope, that these type of family outings and activities will continue as they grow. I am so happy and thankful to have them apart of my life and so glad that we are working out together.… Continue

Sometimes I think the most difficult part of having a baby is not the sleepless nights, not the crying, not the birth….it is being away from her. I won’t lie, sometimes it is a needed break when I go to work or I travel and get to sleep past 5 am but not being with her outweighs any brief moment of pleasure I have. I do feel that I am a better mommy to her because I work though. That may not be the case for everyone but for a driven chick like me, someone who thrives on competition and her… Continue

I've not been at my best today.
After being pregnant for so long i have found it hard to know what feeling 'normal' is. For example:
Is getting upset over little things still OK? and I mean not just grumpy, full on tears
Is dwelling on bad thoughts and thinking it is the end of the world normal?
How about thinking that you don't actually think you know what your doing? Is this normal thinking if you're not… Continue

I have three teenage girls. If they asked me, and thankfully they have not, to allow them breast implants, I would be devastated. I would be devastated because I would know that the media machine had gotten to them. The standard of beauty so mercilessly imposed on girls and women is a mighty and relentless animal. A parent has a difficult challenge combating the messages in magazines and television and movies and music. There are lots of good reasons I could give my daughters for why a "boob… Continue
